    Rick Wells

    Marin Builders Association of Marin appointed Rick Wells as its new chief executive officer, effective May 15. Mr. Wells brings over 15 years of experience in association management to the MBA. Over the past four years he served as the president and CEO of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce. Before coming to San Rafael, Mr. Wells served as president and CEO of the Vallejo Chamber and director of membership at the Napa Chamber.

    Finance

    Summer Morris, CPA, recently moved to 3270 Mendocino Ave., Suite 2A, Santa Rosa. She provides fixed-fee tax preparation and tax planning, outsourced bookkeeping and accounting, and QuickBooks consulting services to small businesses, individuals and families.

    Health Care

    Greg Thigpen

    Greg Thigpen, PhD, was elected president of the Redwood Psychological Association, a chapter of the California Psychological Association that serves Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake counties. Dr. Thigpen is a clinical psychologist providing therapy for teens, couples and families in Sonoma County for more than 15 years. He recently moved his practice to 930 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa.

    Insurance

    Jennifer Lunski

    Jennifer Lunski recently joined Wells Fargo Insurance’s employee benefits compliance team. She has been in the insurance industry for almost 15 years helping employers understand the legal and regulatory requirements of their benefit plans. Her experience includes work with the U.S. Department of Labor for the Employee Benefits Security Administration. While at the DOL, she managed a team of agents and assisted employers in complying with various federal laws governing health and welfare plans. Prior to joining Wells Fargo Insurance, Ms. Lunski was the compliance officer for the employee benefits practice of a large regional employee benefits consulting firm. 

    Law

    Trevor Rose

    Trevor Rose, founding attorney and counselor at law at Rose Law Napa Valley, joined the Napa County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce board of directors. A Napa native, Mr. Rose in August opened his own law office in Napa. After receiving his California law license in 2011, he spent 18 months as both general counsel and MLBPA-certified player agent at California Sports Management, Inc.. It’s a full-service sports agency that represents more than 45 professional baseball players from all over the world. He has practiced law in contract drafting and analysis, landlord–tenant disputes, immigration law and visa procurement, family law, financial and estate-planning, and labor and employment.

    Nonprofits

    The Friends and Foundation of the St. Helena Public Library has named Maria Criscione Stel as its first executive director. Ms. Stel has extensive experience in nonprofit management and fundraising, having spent 15 years as director of development and public affairs at Clinic Ole. Ms. Stel has lived in St. Helena for 16 years.

    United Way of the Wine Country honored John Jordan as 2014 Philanthropist of the Year. CEO of John Jordan Vineyard & Winery, he was recognized for his extraordinary generosity and the impact of his work for our community. Mr. Jordan’s support helped to expand United Way’s Schools of Hope early grade literacy initiative to three new schools and is enabling United Way to expand the reach of the Earn It! Keep It! $ave It! initiative serving low- to moderate-income individuals and families, particularly migrant farmworkers, receiving free tax-preparation and financial education.

    Real Estate

    C.J. Nakagawa

    C.J. Nakagawa of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Greenbrae office has been awarded membership in the Coldwell Banker International Sterling Society, an honor given to the top Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage sales associates worldwide. Since co-founding Susan Hewitt Luxury Group at Coldwell Banker in 2011, Mr. Nakagawa has participated in more than $42 million in closed transactions in San Francisco and Marin County. Mr. Nakagawa is also the founding president of the Young Professionals Network of Marin.

    Wine

    Round Pond Estate, a family-owned Rutherford farm and winery, hired Muiris Griffin as a winemaker. He was most recently at Ridge Vineyards in Healdsburg and has also spent time with Opus One, Chateau St. Jean and Chateau Pape Clement. He holds a degree in viticulture and enology from CFPPA Bordeaux.
