Hemming Morse, LLP, a national San Francisco-based accounting firm with offices in Santa Rosa, appointed a new management committee composed of partners Jim Andersen, Greg McKinnon, Alex Miller, Greg Regan and Susan Thompson. A partner in the firm’s Forensic and Financial Consulting Services Group, Mr. Andersen’s more than 40-year career includes building one of the largest full service accounting firms in the North Bay, Andersen & Company, now part of Burr Pilger Mayer. His practice includes working with the legal community in the areas of complex partnership, corporate and dissenting shareholder actions, as well as economic damage and other forensic accounting assignments. He also has an active financial consulting practice and has performed hundreds of valuations for mergers and acquisitions, estate and gift matters, and buy-sell agreements
Banking and Finance
Hennessy Advisors, Inc., named Susan Weber Pomilia to the firm’s board of directors. She has 27 years’ experience in the mortgage business. She was the managing partner and a top-producing loan originator for First Security Loan Corporation for many years. After joining RPM Mortgage in 2007, Ms. Pomilia helped to grow the firm, which now operates offices in Mill Valley, Napa, San Rafael and Benicia, and she currently serves as managing partner.
Ukiah Valley Medical Center hired orthopedic surgeon Guy J.A. Rudin, MD. He comes to the Adventist Health-owned hospital from Minnesota, where he served in a large orthopedic medical practice. Dr. Rudin is now accepting new patients at the Ukiah Valley Medical Specialties, orthopedics clinic located at 236-B Hospital Dr. in Ukiah.
Hospitality and Tourism
Napkins Bar + Grill hired Erasto Jacinto as its new executive chef. He previously worked at Mustard’s Bar and Grill and was mentored under one of the nation’s most famed female restaurateurs, Cindy Pawlcyn, for 23 years. Mr. Jacinto has also co-authored a cookbook, Big, Small Plates, and has traveled extensively in order to compete in numerous culinary competitions and events.
Thomas Elsdon joined Sausalito’s Fast Food Francais (F3), the sister restaurant of Le Garage Bistro in Sausalito and L’Apart Resto in San Anselmo, as the restaurant’s new general manager. A seasoned industry professional, he has more than 18 years of managerial experience from restaurants throughout the Bay Area. He joined F3 from Left Bank in Larkspur, where his responsibilities included hiring and training of house staff. Starting his career at Mountain Jacks in Madison, Wis., Mr. Elsdon moved west to hold manager positions at Treviso Osteria, Piccolo Teatro, and Paradise Bay in Sausalito, as well as Boca Restaurant in Igancio.
The SSM Group, an employee benefits consulting firm in Petaluma, added two new account managers. Mari Davidson-Frease has many years of experience in account management and financial management. Mary Hardisty has worked with a few regional consulting firms as account manager and will also be working with The SSM Group as an on-site communications manager.
Scott Hintz recently joined the Sonoma Land Trust board of directors. He is co-founder of the mobile travel organizer TripIt and former executive of travel website Hotwire.com and settled in Kenwood last year. Mr. Hintz began his career as a management consultant with Andersen Consulting, later renamed Accenture, in the New York and San Francisco offices. In addition to building companies, he has recently become active in advising and investing in startups.
Carol Hudson of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Greenbrae West office earned membership into the Coldwell Banker International President’s Circle, an honor bestowed upon the brokerage’s top sales associates worldwide. Ms. Hudson was in sales at Viking Cruise Lines and Gap before entering real estate 20 years ago.
Young Park Allen of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Southern Marin office, Ann Green of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Tiburon office and Manda Mello of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Santa Rosa East Mission Boulevard office also have been awarded membership in the Coldwell Banker International Sterling Society.
The independent minor league Sonoma Stompers Baseball Club formally introduced Casey Dill as the team’s field manager for its inaugural season. Mr. Dill, 30, spent the previous two seasons managing in the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs, with the Las Cruces Vaqueros and Las Vegas (New Mexico) Train Robbers in 2013. He led both teams to league championship series in consecutive seasons, capturing a Northern Division Championship in 2013 with the Train Robbers. In two seasons, Mr. Dill owns a career managerial record of 86-57. During his time with the Pecos League, Mr. Dill has promoted 28 players to higher levels of professional baseball, more than any other manager in the league during that period. Earlier in 2014, he managed in the California Winter League, an instructional showcase league for current professional and free agents, located in Palm Springs.
Agilent Technologies Inc. announced plans to appoint Paul Clark and James Cullen to the board of directors of Santa Rosa-based Keysight Technologies, Inc. Mr., Clark is expected to become Keysight’s chairman of the board. Mr. Clark has been a member of Agilent board of directors since 2006. He has also been a strategic advisory board member of Genstar Capital, LLC, since 2007, and was an operating partner from August 2007 to January 2013. Prior to that, Mr. Clark was CEO and president of ICOS Corp. from June 1999 to January 2007. Mr. Cullen has been a director of Agilent since 2000 and Agilent’s non-executive chairman of the board since 2005. He was president and chief operating officer of Bell Atlantic Corp. (now known as Verizon) from 1997 to 2000. Currently, Mr. Cullen is also a member of the board of directors of Johnson & Johnson, Prudential Financial, Inc., serving as the lead independent director since 2011, and NeuStar, Inc., serving as the non-executive chairman since 2010.
Gina Comeaux joined J Vineyards & Winery as sales manager for national accounts on premise. Ms. Comeaux was most recently the strategic accounts manager for the on-premise national account team at Constellation Brands. She was responsible for sales initiatives in many of the leading chain restaurant and hotel accounts. Prior to joining Constellation in 2002, Ms. Comeaux worked for Diageo for several years. She spent the earlier part of her career working for Heritage House in Louisiana, the fine wine division of Magnolia, which is now known as Republic National Distributing Company.
