SANTA ROSA — Charles “Chuck” Fernandez, executive director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa, will leave his role to serve as CEO of Catholic Charities of the East Bay on May 14, the organization announced.

“We are thankful for Chuck’s leadership over the past three years as the organization has undergone a successful transformation,” said Daniel Hanlon, president of the Santa Rosa organization’s board of directors, in an announcement. “We wish Chuck the best in the next phase of his career leading our sister organization in Oakland.”

Len Marabella, current board member, will serve as interim executive director during the nationwide search for a new CEO.

Mr. Fernandez grew services for the North Bay’s largest homeless services organization during his three years of service. The agency serves homeless, seniors living along or with dementia and individuals seeking U.S. citizenship, and received accreditation last year from the Council on Accreditation.

The overall organization serves 15,000 individuals through 20 programs.

Ms. Marabella has a background in management and marketing, including marketing of laser products for JDSU.
