The nuances of effective decision-making in an increasingly diverse professional world will play center stage in the North Bay Leadership Council's annual Economic Insight Conference on May 29.
"Each year is a different issue around the economy," said Cynthia Murray, president and CEO of the council. "This year is a bit of a different approach. A lot of us have prejudices, biases, fears we're not aware of. Sometimes, it influences the decisions we make, versus the facts and data. It's even more important now as we work across generations and across cultures."
Steve Scheier, CEO and founder of business consulting firm Scheier + Group, and Diedra Barber, chief information officer, are set to outline the potential business impact of those biases during the conference keynote presentation.
Discussing their personal experience with those intricacies of decision-making are scheduled to be Steffen Kuehr, vice president and chief operating officer of Bijan's Protective Equipment; Matt Martin, executive director of Social Advocates for Youth; and Patty Garbarino, president of Marin Sanitary Service.
