Community First Credit Union in Santa Rosa approved six board positions for the financial institution. Brian Cochran, finance manager for the city of Novato, Jean Neff, retired local teacher, and Tom Scott, general manager of Oliver’s Markets, were re-elected to new three-year terms. The board sets policy, approves the budget, and reviews the CEO’s progress in achieving the cooperative’s goals and objectives.
Three Supervisory positions were also filled. Maud Fitzpatrick, a CPA and current chairperson of the supervisory committee, was re-elected to a new three-year term. Also joining Ms. Fitzpatrick were Jeanette St. George, a longtime former CEO of Sonoma County Grange Credit Union, and Christine Haggarty, a retired local educator.
Keith Gellerman was hired as a staff engineer in Santa Rosa-based Summit Engineering‘s water and wastewater division. Mr. Gellerman earned his B.S. in civil engineering at University of California, Irvine and his M.S. in environmental engineering at UC Davis. He brings to Summit over four years of water/wastewater design experience. He specializes in wastewater treatment plants, collection systems, and disposal systems.
Erica Mikesh, P.E., was hired as a project engineer in Summit’s civil division. Ms. Mikesh earned her B.S. in civil and environmental engineering at UC Berkeley. She comes to Summit with experience in grading and drainage, utility design, stormwater management design and hydrology and hydraulic calculations. She specializes in multiple civil engineering disciplines and her strengths include identifying and addressing project needs early in the process as well as coordination with public agencies and consultants.
Wendy Ranzau, R.N., B.S.N., has been appointed Hospice by the Bay’s chief operations officer by the nonprofit’s board of directors. She brings extensive experience in managing Northern California hospice care and home health programs. Ms. Ranzau joined the nonprofit in 2010 as the Sonoma County site manager, and was promoted to clinical director in 2013. She moved into the agency’s top clinical position in May 2014, after then-COO Kitty Whitaker was named CEO. Prior to joining Hospice by the Bay, Ms. Ranzau served as the service director for home health and hospice for Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco.

The Westin Verasa Napa announced three new personnel appointments. Katarina Mezeiova was named director of finance, Shan Smith is now the conference services manager and Daniel Gomez Sanchez was appointed executive sous chef at La Toque, the restaurant at the hotel headed by chef Ken Frank. Mr. Gomez Sanchez brings a wealth of European and local experience to his new post, having attended Escuela Universitaria de Hotelería y Turismo de Sant Pol de Mar in Barcelona, Spain. After leaving Europe in 2005, he spent time as chef de partie at both The French Laundry and Cyrus, before taking on the role of senior sous chef at Napa’s Morimoto location in 2010. As the new director of finance at The Westin Verasa Napa, Ms. Mezeiova brings experience in property acquisition, business development and the implementation of management tools and training programs. Ms. Mezeiova began her career as a finance manager at Cresco Group. Prior to joining The Westin Verasa, Ms. Mezeiova worked as corporate controller at Azul Hospitality Group in San Diego. The property’s catering and conference team hired Ms. Smith to oversee the hotel’s operational needs for corporate and leisure banquets and on-site events. With nearly 15 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, she was most recently conference services manager at the Sheraton Sonoma County. She has an deep background in food, beverage and wine.
Sequoia Pacific Mortgage Company, Inc. announced that Lori Priest has recently obtained both her California Bureau of Real Estate Salespersons license and her National and California Mortgage Licenses. She has been promoted to operations manager. For the past five years, Ms. Priesti has processed and underwritten loans for the company’s Santa Rosa office.
Allen Wine Group, LLP, a wine industry business advisory firm, promoted Jennifer Schiavone to partner. She joins partners Timothy Allen, Gina Carte, Deanna Partridge and Bill Atwood. She started her career at the CPA firm Dillwood Burkel & Sully, where she was a staff accountant specializing in winery clients. Then she spent five years at Linkenheimer, LLP, in Santa Rosa, first as senior accountant and later as tax supervisor. She joined Allen Wine Group in January 2013.
Mercader Cork USA in Healdsburg appointed Sara Donoso Rathbun to the newly created position of general manager. In this role, she will manage all business operations and sales in the U.S. Her history in the wine industry includes a stint at Clos du Bois and, most recently, Dry Creek Vineyard. As the marketing and communications manager for Dry Creek Vineyard, she managed all new design packages for the winery. In addition, she has experience on the supplier side of the industry at Scott Laboratories’ Petaluma and Healdsburg locations.
