    Shireen Donaldson is the vice president of human resources for Agilent’s Electronic Measurement Group, a position she was promoted to in 2009. Ms. Donaldson joined Hewlett-Packard in 1997 as a human resources consultant and in 1999 was named human resources manager for Agilent’s Advanced Networks Division, based in Australia, after HP and Agilent became separate companies. She will remain with the new spin-off company — Keysight Technologies, which will separate from Agilent toward the end of 2014 and be headquartered in Santa Rosa — and will be responsible for business HR and learning and development.

    Before joining HP, she worked as a senior HR consultant for Victoria Legal Aid and served as a senior consultant in the organizational development unit of the Victorian WorkCover Authority, both in Australia. Ms. Donaldson received her bachelor of science in applied science from the Phillip Institute of Technology and an MBA from Monash University. She moved to Sonoma County in 2003 to be the human resources manager for the Signal Analysis Division in Santa Rosa. In 2005 she was named human resources manager for the company’s Wireless Business Unit, where she worked until assuming her current responsibilities.

    Cindy Gillespie is vice president of human resources for Amy’s Kitchen, Inc., where she is responsible for overseeing the human resources functions at three plant locations including Santa Rosa and Medford, Ore. Her responsibilities also include managing the office facilities.

    Prior to Amy’s, Ms. Gillespie spent 14 years as the vice president of human resources for New Zealand Milk Products, Inc., an international marketing company located in Santa Rosa. She holds a bachelor of science degree in industrial relations from California State University, Hayward (now East Bay).

    Jan Becker

    Jan Becker is senior vice president of human resources for Autodesk, which is the third-largest employer in Marin County, with roughly 1,000 employees. In her current role, Ms. Becker is responsible for worldwide human resources, corporate real estate and community relations at the software development company.

    Previously, she was the senior director of human resources for the company’s Design Solutions division and manager of the “HR Future” team. She joined Autodesk in 1992. She’s held management positions with Sun Microsystems, Activision, Digital Equipment Corp. and Hewlett-Packard. She holds a B.S. in business administration from San Jose State University.

    Mr. Ranieri joined BioMarin in 2013 and is the current senior vice president of human resources and corporate affairs. Prior to BioMarin, he most recently was executive vice president for human resources at Dendreon Corporation from 2010–2013, where he was responsible for all aspects of human resources.

    Prior to Dendreon, Mr. Ranieri was executive vice president of human resources and administration at Sepracor, where he also managed and directed corporate services, facilities and communications.

    Earlier in his career, Mr. Ranieri served in executive positions at Neurocrine Biosciences, Genencor International and Smithkline Beecham. He received a B.A. from Villanova University and an M.A. in organizational development from Rider University.

    oanne Sanders started her staffing industry career as an account representative covering the Bay Area for Olsten in 1992. After relocating to Idaho two years later, she started her own employment agency, working with government agencies.

    She and her husband, who became chief financial officer, sold the company and returned to the Bay Area and started Bolt Staffing Services, which has two offices specializing in the staffing needs of local businesses, nonprofits and local government agencies.

    Ms. Sanders is a former Sonoma councilwoman and mayor as well as a former director of the Golden Gate Highway & Transportation District board. She has a bachelor’s degree in management from Sonoma State University.

    Peter Dempsey

    Since 2009, Peter Dempsey has co-owned Express Employment Professionals, a workforce and workplace solutions company, with Tracy Dempsey. He has experience in marketing, sales, economics, history and human resources.

    Prior to that, he worked for Jeld-Wen, a manufacturer of building products, for stints of 15 and five years. During the first stretch, he was marketing manager then vice president of marketing. He returned in 2002 as vice president of corporate marketing.

    In between, he was managing director of CMD, a marketing and advertising firm based in Portland and San Francisco.

    He has an undergraduate marketing degree with a minor in economics from University of Puget Sound and an executive MBA in marketing from the University of Southern California. He also completed an executive marketing program at The Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.

    Amy Keyser is senior vice president of human resources at Fireman’s Fund Insurance, Marin County’s fifth-largest employer. Recently promoted, she had been vice president of human resources since January 2011.

    She is responsible for company human resource strategies aimed at creating a high-performance culture, attracting and retaining talent and improving developmental tools for employees.

    Ms. Keyser joined Fireman’s Fund in 2006 as vice president of employment law, ethics and corporate investigations. Prior to joining Fireman’s Fund, Ms. Keyser worked at several premier labor and employment law firms. She earned a J.D. and bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.

    Joseph Hernandez

    Joseph Hernandez

    Joseph Hernandez oversees the human resource operations for Graton Resort & Casino, now Sonoma County’s second-largest employer. He is responsible for all employment-related efforts such as hiring and advancement, team member relations, benefits administration of medical insurance plans and 401(k) programs as well as the internal communications for the casino’s 2,000 employees. 

    Mr. Hernandez has held a variety of human resources positions within Station Casinos, the operator of Graton Resort & Casino, since 2004. He relocated to Sonoma County last year to spearhead the human resources department at the Rohnert Park casino, which opened in November.

    He is a graduate of the University of Phoenix with a master’s degree in management and also holds a B.A. in psychology from the City University of New York. He was honored in 2006 by Telemundo News in Las Vegas with the Heroes Among Us award, given to Latino executives for perseverance and drive.

    Will Staney recently was named Glassdoor’s “head talent warrior” and director of global talent acquisition. In this new role, Mr. Staney will leverage expertise in social recruiting, human resources data and analytics, and talent networking to build upon Glassdoor’s already successful talent-acquisition program.

    Right now, the company employs more than 200 employees, with 100 more set to be hired by the end of 2014.

    Previously, Mr. Staney served as director of recruiting at SAP (formerly SuccessFactors), and as talent acquisition web strategy manager at VMWare, among other human resources and recruiting roles. In addition to developing world-class talent acquisition programs, Mr. Stanley is an expert and industry leader when it comes to strategic sourcing, social recruiting, recruitment marketing, evaluating and improving candidate experience and more.

    He’s won several honors, including Workforce Management’s Game Changer Award, Glassdoor’s Talent Warrior Award, and recognition by the Huffington Post as a Top Social Human Resources Expert on Twitter.     Rudy Collins serves as the human resources leader for the Kaiser Permanente Marin–Sonoma Area — the largest private employer in both counties, with more than 4,600 employees combined. He directs a staff of 17, and his primary responsibilities are to serve as consultant to leadership on all human resources issues, ensure the delivery of all human resources services to the area’s two medical centers and take actions to promote an effective partnership between labor and management. His duties include overseeing employee and labor relations, recruitment, human resources compliance, disability management, learning and development, and leadership development.

    Mr. Collins has been with Kaiser Permanente for the past nine years and previously held human resources management positions with eBay, Charles Schwab and Levi Strauss. He received a B.A. in psychology and philosophy from Boston University and an MBA from Golden Gate University.

    He represents Kaiser on the Marin County Workforce Investment Board.

Most recently, Mr. Kreuzberger led the development of the firm’s specialization in financial leadership searches for private foundations and multifamily offices.

    He has over 30 years in the public accounting, technology, venture capital, real estate and executive search industries, beginning his career with KPMG Peat Marwick in San Francisco. Prior to entering the executive search profession, he served as chief financial officer for Walker Interactive, a $30 million venture capital-financed supplier of financial application software.

    Shannon Benjamin is the regional recruiting manager for Manpower, overseeing and managing its Santa Rosa, Oakland and San Francisco offices, which specialize in temporary, temp-to-hire and direct hiring.

    She has more than 15 years’ experience in sales, human resources and training. Ms. Benjamin also has more than 10 years’ experience in staffing and recruiting for all level of positions, including direct hires, contract, temp-to-hire and temporary, across a number of skill sets, including technical, administrative, customer service, accounting and light industrial.

    In 2007 she was nominated by her peers to be part of Manpower’s Leadership Development Program. She was one of seven picked out of 350 for the program.

    Linda Lang

    Linda Lang was appointed chief human resources officer for Marin General Hospital in August, replacing Theresa Gianfortune, who retired.

    Ms. Lang joined Marin General from Kaiser Permanente, where she was regional director, employee and labor relations, Northern California, overseeing the organization’s labor relations and bargaining strategy for a workforce of approximately 65,000. She joined Kaiser in 2010 from Millennium Hotels and Resorts, where she was vice president, human resources for the hospitality firm’s North American Region.

    Prior to that, she was a regional director at Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Worldwide, serving as the human resources leader for the Northwest and western Canada.

    After receiving a B.A. from San Francisco State University in 1990, Ms. Lang completed postgraduate work at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health. She earned a J.D. at the University of San Francisco in 1999. She is licensed by the State Bar of California and spent several years in practice with a major firm as a labor and employment attorney.

    Deborah Yount

    Deborah Yount is vice president of human resources for Medtronic’s Cardiac and Vascular Group in Santa Rosa. Promoted to this position in June 2013, Ms. Yount has responsibility for the global coronary and endovascular therapies businesses. She leads human resource teams in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, Brescia, Italy, and Santa Rosa.

    She joined Medtronic in April 2007 and has served in numerous roles across the organization, with primary focus in strategic human resource business leadership. She has led the Cardiovascular Learning and Development teams in Ireland, Mexico and California. Her most recent role was senior director of endovascular therapies.

    Ms. Yount has more than 20 years of experience in human resources management and organization development with a strong financial and administrative management background. She has implemented and driven strategic, leading-edge human resources initiatives that enhance employee and organizational performance for companies such as Nelson, Texas Instruments and Sirific Wireless. She holds a master’s degree in human resources and organizational development from University of San Francisco, undergraduate degrees in social science and finance and accounting as well as several human resources certifications.

    Carolyn Burke has been senior human resources manager for The Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa since June 2013 and has more than 15 years of progressive senior level human resources, organizational development and leadership experience. She is tasked with managing all aspects of human resources for the resort, one of Napa’s largest employers, with more than 430 full- and part-time employees.

    Ms. Burke’s human resources experience has allowed her to work in companies that specialize in winery operations, agriculture, retail, restaurant and hotel-resorts. The Meritage Resort operations range from its hillside vineyards to restaurants, catering and resort amenities. She is an HROD (human resources and organizational development) business partner with proven track record in translating HROD business process into revenue enhancement, cost-benefit improvements and organizational business process improvement outcomes.

    She has a degree in business management from California State University, Long Beach.

    Donna Farrugia joined Nelson as the chief executive officer in August. As CEO of one of the largest independent staffing companies in the United States, Ms. Farrugia has more than 30 years of marketing, business development and management experience. She was most recently one of a few executive directors at a Fortune 500 staffing and recruiting firm. In that capacity, Ms. Farrugia managed strategy and operations for its creative division, specializing in interactive, creative and marketing solutions. She spent the prior ten years with the same firm as senior vice president,

    Prior to her time as a staffing and recruiting executive, Ms. Farrugia spent 16 years in the imaging and information industry. Three of those were as global manager of service business development for 3M/Imation Corp. Before that, 13 years were spent with Eastman Kodak, where she held the role of western zone director for Kodak’s outsourcing services. She holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh, with a minor emphasis in systems analysis, operations research, accounting and psychology.

    Kristina Holloway has more than 19 years’ experience in strategic, tactical and operational human resources management. She is currently employee relations manager at Healdsburg District Hospital and is president-elect of The Professional Association of Sonoma County, better known as PASCO.

    Previously, Ms. Holloway was a principal human resources business partner with Medtronic Cardiovascular for over 11 years and the human resources manager for six years at Glen Ellen Winery.

    She holds a senior professional in human resources certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute and last year completed her master’s degree in organization development at the University of San Francisco.

    She has been a volunteer leader with the North Bay Regional Chapter of the Northern California Human Resources Association since its inception in 2000 and a member of the Workforce Investment Board since 2010.

    Tiffany Mickens is branch manager for the Accountemps and OfficeTeam divisions of Robert Half, the first and largest specialized staffing firm. She provides highly skilled, temporary accounting and financial staff to more than 500 companies in Solano and Napa counties.

    Ms. Mickens has more than nine years of experience in recruiting and human resources with Robert Half. Her past roles were staffing manager and division director for Solano County and Napa.

    She also is an active member of the chambers of commerce in Fairfield and Napa and partners with the local Boys and Girls Clubs of America within her professional territory.

    She attended Heald College and has an A.A. degree in medical office administration.

    Kimberly Slavan is director of human resources for Silverado Resort and Spa and has more than 10 years’ experience in human resources. She worked as a human resources generalist and training manager in both retail, and health and human resources before transitioning to hospitality in 2005.

    Ms. Slavan joined Silverado as director of human resources and a member of the strategic team in August. Previously, she was with Destination Hotels and Resorts as director of human resources from September 2007 until May 2011 with Miramonte Resort and Spa in Indian Wells, and the Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Valley from May 2011 through August 2013.

    From 2005 to 2007, Ms. Slavan was the director of human resources for the 513-unit Wyndham Phoenix, in downtown Phoenix.

    Ms. Slavan, a native of Oakland, received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas and currently lives in Napa.

    Lisa Rogelstad is chief executive officer and owner of Star Staffing, which was founded in 1998. Ms. Rogelstad has more than 12 years in the staffing industry. She has worked in human resources, finance and strategic leadership. The company has offices in Healdsburg, Napa, Sonoma, Petaluma, Fairfield and Ukiah.

    As vice president and co-owner, Nicole Smartt oversees the day-to-day operations throughout the North Bay. She has more than 10 years of experience in the staffing industry, having served in virtually every aspect of the industry.

    Ms. Smartt is the co-founder for the Petaluma Young Professionals Network and also sits on the California Staffing Professionals Board. She is a past active board member for The Professional Association of Sonoma County Human Resource, or PASCO HR.

    She is also active with several chambers of commerce and community organizations, including sitting on the board for Santa Rosa’s Wednesday Night Market. She’s also a board member for the Active 20-30 Service Club, and she recently was  appointed to the Young Professionals Entrepreneur Council.

    Julene English is the Santa Rosa-based human resources executive for Sutter Health. Ms. English provides leadership to a full spectrum of human capital functions and initiatives for a tri-county workforce of medical professionals at Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa, Sutter Lakeside and Novato Community Hospitals.

    Ms. English is responsible for the human resources transition, staff training and logistics around personnel relocation to the new $300 million Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital. At the same time, Ms. English served as the regional administrative human resources director integrating Sutter Health’s Marin, Sonoma and Lake counties staff operations into a centralized human resources and payroll service center model, which is now responsible for 45,000-plus employees.

    Previous to joining Sutter Health, Ms. English served as director of human resources for Kentfield Rehabilitation & Specialty Hospital. She has also held human resources leadership positions with California Pacific Medical Center, a Sutter Health affiliate in San Francisco, and the University of California.

    Ms. English earned a bachelor of arts from California State University, East Bay (formally Hayward).

    Robert Eisen

    Robert Eisen manages human resources of all St. Joseph Health facilities in Northern Califonria, including Santa Rosa Memorial, Petaluma Valley, Queen of the Valley in Napa, Redwood Memorial in Fortuna and St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka. He oversees employment, benefits, compensation, employee relations, legal compliance, education, workers compensation, development and training, and morale and recognition programs. He is also responsible for human resources practices, policies and processes.

    He has more than 23 years of experience in human resources and employee relations. Most recently, he worked for the Hospital Corporation of America as vice president of human resources at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and Sunrise Children’s Hospital, in Las Vegas.

    Prior to his 10-plus years at HCA, he served as director of human resources for Quest Diagnostics, formerly Associated Pathologists Laboratories, also in Las Vegas.

    He earned a bachelor of science degree from Arizona State University. He is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and a certified trainer for Zenger-Miller products and DDI products, which are leadership training and competency tools.

    Kevin Peterson is vice president of human resources for Treasury Wine Estates with leadership experience across multiple industries. He joined Treasury Wine Estates, the world’s largest publicly-listed wine company, in 2011 and was recently appointed as senior human resources for the Americas region.

    His specialties and areas of focus include strategic human resources leadership; organizational design and effectiveness; design, delivery, evaluation of learning solutions; Learning and Development team leadership; and talent management design.

    Previously, Mr. Peterson held senior positions at NewStar Fresh Foods, Jamba Juice, Chiquita Brands International and Arthur Anderson. He speaks both English and Spanish fluently and earned an M.S. degree from Georgetown University.

    Tom O’Brien

    Tom O’Brien is managing director of human resources at Trinchero Family Estates, Napa County’s third largest employer, with nearly 700 employees. He has expertise in talent management, organizational change and development, labor relations and compensation including executive compensation.

    In his current role, Mr. O’Brien is the top human resources executive, reporting to the president and chief operating officer. He is responsible for all aspects of Trinchero’s human resources functions, leading a team of 10 human resources professionals.

    Previously, he was managing partner at O’Brien Partners, was senior vice president, global human resources at Constellation Brands and senior vice president at Constellation Wines.

    He has a bachelor of science degree in business management from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

    Jane Hynes is president, CEO and co-founder of W.A. Hynes & Company, which she started with her husband in 1976, and has held the top roles since 2002.

    Initially a specialty staffing firm in information technology and consulting, it now offers staffing services in accounting, bookkeeping, clerical, construction, engineering, health care, insurance, IT, legal and marketing. Its clients, which range from mid-sized to Fortune 500 companies, are located nationwide. The company now has two Bay Area offices and one in Texas.

    Her career began in nursing, and her husband’s in chemistry.
