Horizon Air’s planes currently carry passengers between Santa Rosa and West Coast destinations.

SANTA ROSA – Commercial passenger volume at the Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport eased 0.1 percent in May but was up 2.8 percent for the first five months of the year.

There were 20,692 passengers last month — 27 fewer than in May of last year — and 86,658 for that far in the year, according to the airport’s monthly passenger report, released Thursday.

Flights for the airport’s sole commercial carrier, Horizon Air, were at 81 percent capacity on average in May. It was the highest rate yet this year. In the previous four months, planes were 74 percent full on average.
