    Finance

    Redwood Trust, Inc., and Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago are establishing MPF Direct, a new mortgage purchase product offered by the Mortgage Partnership Finance Program. MPF Direct will allow Federal Home Loan members that participate in the MPF Program to deliver eligible residential high-balance mortgage loans through the MPF Program’s operational platform to subsidiaries of Redwood Trust. Under the agreement, Redwood Trust will be the sole investor in MPF Direct loans for three years. The launch of MPF Direct is subject to the final regulatory approval from the Federal Housing Finance Agency.

    Fitch Ratings rated the county of Sonoma general obligation bonds at “AA-plus,” Measure F sales tax revenue bonds for the Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District at “AA-plus” and the pension obligations bonds at “AA.” The ratings are some of the best available for local government and an indication of the county’s strong financial stewardship and fiscal discipline, according to the county.

    Marketing

    Boylan Point Agency, a Santa Rosa-based advertising and marketing firm, recently completed the Veterans Resource Centers of America website (vetsresource.org).

    Residential Real Estate

    Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage said it will merge its Bon Air Center office in Greenbrae into its larger, upscale branch office at 511 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in the same community. The move will close the former Frank Howard Allen office acquired under an acquisition and create an expansive flagship office in Greenbrae that will house more than 125 Coldwell Banker sales associates, including many of the company’s top-producing agents. Cyd Gardner, the current manager of the Greenbrae–Sir Francis Drake office, will continue to manage the newly combined facility.

    Retail

    Irvine-based Habit Restaurants, LLC, plans to open a Habit Burger Grill location at the new Deer Creek Plaza development at 447 N. McDowell Blvd. in Petaluma, on June 25. The newest location brings the number of Habit restaurants to 94.

    Technology

    Cyan, a provider of software-defined networking (SDN) and packet-optical solutions for network operators, said Certes, the leader in multilayer encryption solutions for high-performance networks, and Fortinet, a global leader in high-performance network security, have joined Blue Orbit, an ecosystem of partners focused on delivering real-world, multivendor SDN and network functions virtualization applications.

    Wine

    Foley Family Wines opened the new Roth Estate tasting room at 10309 Chalk Hill Rd. in Healdsburg. The new tasting room offers views of the production facility. Snacks and boxed lunches made with local ingredients are available for purchase. In early 2015, visitor experiences will be expanded with tours and tastings in the 10,000-square-foot wine cave currently under construction.
