    Terry Fowler has been named president of the North Bay Bail Agents Association.

     Mr. Fowler is the owner of Liberty Bail Bonds, which is headquartered in Healdsburg.  He has more than 35 years of bail bonds experience and is a respected expert among bail industry professionals. He served as president of the California Bail Agents Association, where he was instrumental in initiating bail reform legislation, and is a member of Professional Bail Agents of the United States. Liberty Bail Bonds was founded in 2008 and currently has offices in Santa Rosa, San Francisco, Salinas and Bakersfield, California.

    Christopher Daniel

    Dr. Christopher Daniel, DDS, MD, of Santa Rosa & Rohnert Park Oral Surgery,  was among the handful of initiates from around the globe to become Fellows of the American College of Surgeons  during the Convocation Ceremony at the College’s annual Clinical Congress. Dr. Daniel received a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of California in Davis, studied dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, earned a medical doctorate degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, is a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and is currently practicing at both the Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park office locations. Dr. Daniel specializes in extracting wisdom teeth and placing dental implants, and holds membership in other professional societies, including the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial.

    Dave Cooper

    David Cooper, CCIM, has joined Terra Firma Global Partners  in Sonoma as a broker associate specializing in commercial and residential sales for investment or occupancy purposes and with a particular focus on “green” retrofits. Mr. Cooper has more than 25 years of diverse real estate experience that most recently included advising large portfolio investors to acquire nearly $100 million in multifamily communities in Northern California. Earlier in his career, he was involved with real estate development projects in Colorado, New Mexico and Hawaii, building single-family communities, apartments and commercial space.

    Ken Schrier and Laura de Rutte of RE/MAX PROs were recently presented with the RE/MAX Hall of Fame Award, which honors successful agents who have earned more than $1 million in commissions during their careers with the company.  Mr.  Schrier has been working in the real estate industry for more than a dozen years and has been consistently a top real estate agent in Sonoma County. Mr. Schrier also serves on the board of directors for the Cotati Accordion Festival and writes a real estate column for The Community Voice.  Ms. de Rutte is a 25 year real estate veteran, active with the Rohnert Park/Cotati Chapter of Realtors, and volunteers with Canine Companions for Independence.

    Tom Mertz

    San Rafael-based Canara named Tom Mertz as its CEO. Mr. Mertz brings more than 20 years of experience in the data center and IT industry to Canara. Mr. Mertz joins Canara from QTS, a publicly traded provider of data center facilities and cloud. Prior to QTS, he was an executive at Lee Technologies. Mr. Mertz earned his B.S. degree from Georgia State University and has participated in executive leadership programs at Emory’s Goizueta Business school and George Mason University.

    Petaluma-based AVRS, Inc. announced additions to its executive team: Warren J. Kaplan, as president and Bob Tomasi as executive vice president of national operations. Mr. Kaplan and Mr. Tomasi were also appointed to the AVRS Board of Directors. Mr. Kaplan and Mr. Tomasi both have over 30 years of experience with technology start-ups, as well as public companies.  They also served on the executive team of NetCom Communications, Inc., founded by Bob Rieger, which grew rapidly to become a public company traded on the NASDAQ stock market. Mr. Kaplan served in various capacities at NetCom during his tenure, as executive vice president, managing director, international CFO, member of the board of directors and led the IPO along with Mr. Rieger. Mr. Tomasi served as VP of operations and established the operations and customer service functions to allow the rapid deployment of the NetCom technology throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

    KCC, a Novato-based computer share company and provider of administrative-support services for the legal and financial industries, announced that Dan Marotto has joined the company as a senior vice president of class action services. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Marotto managed several Fair Funds matters and maintained a strong relationship with the SEC. During his career, he has managed over 100 cases, designed and implemented plans of distribution and developed economic damage models.

    Wine

    Bryant Family Vineyard announced the appointments of Bettina Bryant to president and Marc Gagnon as winemaker. Ms. Bryant has been vice president of the Pritchard Hill estate winery since 2009, and Mr. Gagnon was most recently the assistant winemaker for Screaming Eagle.Mr. Gagnon has also held winemaking positions at Rutherford’s Round Pond Estate and New Zealand’s Hawkes Bay Craggy Range Winery. He holds a B.S. in viticulture and enology from the University of California, Davis. In her new role, Ms. Bryant will provide strategic leadership and establish long-range goals and policies. She will continue with her responsibilities for the general oversight of the winemaking, sales and administrative teams, while also providing supervision of specia projects including winery expansion and marketing.

    Truett-Hurst Inc. announced the appointment of Paul Forgue as chief financial officer and chief operating officer, effective June 16. Mr. Forgue succeeds James D. Bielenberg who resigned as CFO of the company to pursue other interests. Before joining the company, Mr. Forgue was a senior director of Alvarez & Marsal, a global financial advisory services company, where he provided financial and operational leadership including serving as interim CFO in a number of assignments. Prior to Alvarez & Marsal, Mr. Forgue worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a long-time resident of Sonoma County, and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Dallas and an MBA from Rice University.

    Daniel Hartenstein

    Daniel Hartenstein has been chosen to lead the newly formed Northeast sales division for The Hess Collection winery.  Mr. Hartenstein has been with The Hess Collection since 2007, most recently as the Northeast regional sales manager.  Previously, he served as a district manager for Empire Merchants/Charmer Sunbelt Group. The new Northeast Division will serve Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

    Wendy Lavoie

    Wendy Lavoie has been chosen to lead the newly formed Southeast sales division for The Hess Collection winery. There are 13 states and the District of Columbia in the Southeast Division territory.Ms. Lavoie has been with The Hess Collection since 2006, most recently as the Florida/Caribbean regional sales manager. Previously, she held a series of assignments for Premier Beverage Company in Florida. The new Southeast division will serve Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, North and South Carolina.

    Ryan Jones

    Ryan Jones has been chosen to lead the newly formed central sales division for The Hess Collection winery. Mr. Jones, who will be based in Colorado, had been serving as Southwest regional sales manager for The Hess Collection, joining the winery two years ago after a decade in key positions with Beverage Distributors Company and Mountain Wine Distributing. Included in the new central division will be Jeanne Jesse, Chicago-based regional sales manager, and Maureen Lara-Fournier, an RSM based in Houston. The new Central Division will serve Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North and South Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin.
