Ex-magazine publisher, B-to-B editor Dunn joins Journal

James Dunn, the former editor of Sonoma Business Magazine and most recently a senior editor with San Francisco Business Times, will join the Business Journal as a staff writer and technology editor effective Aug. 11.

In addition to covering developments in the North Bay's technology sectors, Mr. Dunn will be responsible for reporting on banking and finance, biotech, manufacturing, law and the food industry.

"We are very fortunate to have an such an experienced journalist and business owner join the Business Journal team," said Journal Publisher Brad Bollinger. "Jim is also a very experienced digital journalist and is very familiar with the important role a business-to-business publication like the Journal plays in the community."

During his two years at San Francisco Business Times, Mr. Dunn both wrote and edited stories across a variety of subjects including technology and banking and finance. He was also a web editor.

Mr. Dunn has spent most of his journalism and business career in the North Bay. He was editor then publisher and owner of Sonoma Business magazine, now NorthBay Biz.

Mr. Dunn has a master's degree in organizational development from Sonoma State University and studied writing, mathematics, philosophy and psychology as an undergraduate at University of Colorado, Boulder.
