Moss Adams LLP announced that Gregory Matayoshi has joined the firm as a director of IT consulting. In this role, Mr. Matayoshi will serve businesses throughout Northern California and direct the firm’s IT Consulting Practice in the region. He brings to the firm 20 years of professional experience managing and directing consulting projects for private and public sector entities. His primary responsibilities will include leading and growing the firm’s IT Consulting Practice in Northern California and overseeing IT consulting and assurance engagements including compliance, SSAE 16 audits, internal audits, performance auditing, organizational assessments, and others. In his most recent role before joining Moss Adams, Mr. Matayoshi was a consulting director with IntelliBridge Partners LLC, a full-service business support and management consulting firm. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor, a member of the Information Systems Audit and Controls Association, and a former president and an active member of the Sacramento Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants. Mr. Matayoshi earned his master’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Davis, and began his career in the US Air Force.Education

Eight students from Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College were awarded scholarships by Electro Optical Components for their 3rd annual Victor Yen Scholarship for excellence in academics in the sciences for the 2014 - 15 school year.  The eight winners from Sonoma State University and four winners from Santa Rosa Junior College have excelled academically and philanthropically.  Winners from Sonoma State University include: Eric Cecil, Brennan Chin, Jennifer Ganeles, Megan Humphrey, Daniel Iriks, Kelly Morales, Aaron Robinson and Fabian Santiago. Santa Rosa Junior College winners include: Steven Garcia, Scott Prouty, David Reynolds and Susan Torres. Victor Yen, founder of Electro Optical Components, was, himself, an excellent student who received a B.S. degree from the University of Redlands and received a M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from California Institute of Technology.  He taught Engineering at Tri-State College in Indiana and later worked in industry at Ford Motor Company, OCLI, Optoelctronics and Cal Sensors before founding Electro Optical Components in 1997. He was a pioneer in the Infrared Filter and Detector industry.Finance

Peg  Pike, former vice president –fixed income business manager at Wellington Management Co. in Boston, has been named chief operating officer of Brouwer & Janachowski, LLC, a Tiburon-based wealth management and investment advisory firm. Ms. Pike will be responsible for implementing the vision and strategic plans for the 27-year-old financial management firm with over $1 billion in assets under management (AUM).  Previously, Ms. Pike was executive vice president and chief operating officer of Rampart Investment Management Co., a boutique registered investment advisory in Boston where she helped spearhead growth from $300 million to $6.5 billion in AUM in three years.  During her 24-year career in financial services, she has held vice presidential positions with J.P. Morgan Securities in its Equity Derivatives Group and Global Credit Group and with Fidelity Investments in the Global Risk Management Group. She entered the field with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) as manager in the Change Management Group for Capital Markets. She holds a master of education degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.S. cum laude in Biochemistry from the University of New Hampshire.Health Care

Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center (KPSRO) announced the appointment of Michael Reinhard, M.D. to the position of Chief of Anesthesiology. Dr. Reinhard joined KPSRO in 2000.  He served several years as the Physician Operating Room (OR) Director for the facility, helping to manage the ORs at both the local and regional level and more recently, served as Department Technology Lead. He grew up in the suburbs of Baltimore and attended Loyola College and University of Maryland medical school, coming West for residency training at UCSF. After residency, he spent three years in private practice at a community hospital in Springfield, Oregon.

Frank R. Howard Memorial Hospital (HMH) has announced that Jeremiah Dawson, M.D., will be joining the facility as a general orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Dawson specializes in total joint replacement of the hip, knee and shoulder, shoulder and knee arthroscopy – minimally invasive technique to treat joint damage and repair rotator cuff and meniscal tears, orthopedic trauma, as well as basic hand procedures including carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel. He attended the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and later the University of Iowa orthopaedics program.Law

Gaw Van Male is pleased to announce that real estate lawyer Todd J. Wenzel has joined the firm’s Real Estate and Business team in its Napa Valley office. As a senior attorney, Mr. Wenzel will represent buyers and sellers involved in real property transactions, including commercial, agricultural and residential purchase and sale agreements, leasing, and land use, as well as business transactions including buy-sell agreements, letters of intent, and business formation.  He earned his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law, and holds a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA.Nonprofits

Doug Brown has joined the Buckelew Programs Board of Directors. Until his retirement in 2011, Mr. Brown worked in the financial services industry for 28 years, most recently at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Before joining Morgan Stanley, his work as a Public Defender in Boulder, Colorado provided him with a lifelong belief in the importance of mental health and social service programs like those offered by Buckelew. Mr. Brown graduated from Colorado College. He received his JD from the University of Colorado and his Masters in Taxation from Golden Gate University.Real Estate

Terra Firma Global Partners announced that Jason Davis has joined the firm as a Senior Sales Associate and will be based out of the Santa Rosa Office. He joined the company's Sonoma Offices in 2014 after a successful career with the Department of State, during which he represented the United States as a diplomat in embassies in the Middle East (Israel, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, and Dubai) as well Europe (Malta and Belgium). He relocated to Santa Rosa where his strong background in communication, negotiations and policy made the transition to a second career in real estate career a natural one. Mr. Davis has been active in the real estate field since the early 1990’s, when he bought and renovated an 1890's Victorian row house in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC, early in his diplomatic career. In the years following he purchased and renovated a total of ten properties, in four states and two foreign countries (the UK and Italy).
