Napa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Marc Luce will give an update at Thursday's Impact Napa - Wine conference on earthquake-recovery efforts.

Mr. Luce will make his remarks at the opening of tomorrow's conference presented by the North Bay Business Journal and underwritten by Bank of Marin and Dickenson, Peatman & Fogarty.

The conference is from 7:30--11:30 a.m. at the The Meritage Resort & Spa in south Napa. Registration, which will be from 7:30--8 a.m., is available at the door.

In addition to Mr. Luce, veteran practitioner and instructor in wine law Richard Mendelson of Napa-based Dickenson Peatman & Fogarty will interview Napa Valley legend Margrit Mondavi and will also moderate tourism and Agriculture Preserve discussions.

Panelists include Clay Gregory, president and CEO of Visit Napa Valley, which deploys money raised from the Napa Valley Tourism Improvement District in promoting local food, wine and entertainment. Mr. Gregory has been at the forefront of a major effort to get the post-earthquake message "Press on Napa" (#PressOnNapa on Twitter and Facebook) out to potential tourists that "Napa is open for business."

A discussion of the valley's future and the role of the ag preserve will include Dennis Groth, president of Groth Vineyards & Winery, and Alex Ryan, President and CEO of Duckhorn Wine Company.

A second panel representing a new generation of innovators in the valley will include Vanessa Robledo, president and managing partner of Black Coyote Wines; Perry Hoffman, chef, Étoile restaurant at Domaine Chandon; and Caleb Mosley of Quintessa winery. Mr. Mendelson will moderate this discussion as well.
