SANTA ROSA -- On Fashion Friday, you might see the accountants of Dal Poggetto & Company decked out in unusual garb such as pink or plaid. It’s not just jeans, but a color of the week.
“I don’t pick the color, but our staff does,” said Jon Dal Poggetto, managing partner, who started the firm in 1992. “Today was yellow. We have done pink in honor of someone’s baby, and blue, for the same reason. Mostly it has been primary colors. We had a green one for St. Patty’s. We do orange to honor the Giants sometimes.”
Sometimes Fashion Fridays sneak past the color themes to adopt patterns: everybody wore plaid, for example.
“We have clients throughout the country,” Mr. Dal Poggetto said, all served by the 25 employees in the Santa Rosa office. There are 15 CPAs.
“We have social events we do throughout the year,” with weekly fun days, especially during busy tax seasons, he said.
Dal Poggetto has a summer picnic and holiday party that includes spouses.
When tax season ends, with its inevitable strains, the company piles everybody into a bus and takes them to San Francisco for dinner and a Giants game. “We have a bowling outing and a golf outing,” Mr. Dal Poggetto said.
Beyond taxes, part of the firm’s practice is preparing financial statements, as well as accounting, auditing and review. “Most people who get into the business get used to deadlines,” Mr. Dal Poggetto said. “Everybody who works here is a good manager of schedules.”
