Melissa Wadlow was promoted to office manager of Axia Architects. Ms. Wadlow joined Axia in August of 2007.Arts & Entertainment
Conductor, violinist and violist George Thomson was hired as interim director of the Santa Rosa Symphony Young People’s Chamber Orchestra for the 2008-2009 concert season in placeof Linda Ghidossi-DeLuca, who is on sabbatical.
Banking & Finance
Craig Van Selow joined Exchange Bank as executive vice president responsible for retail banking, marketing, product development and merchant services.Prior to joining Exchange Bank, Mr. Van Selow was the president and CEO of Mt. Diablo National Bank, one of the banks comprising Greater Bay Bancorp. He was also responsible for marketing and product management for all of the Greater Bay Banks, recently purchased by Wells Fargo.
Also joining Exchange Bank is Maia Lomax as a real estate loan agent for the home loans department. Ms. Lomax is responsible for generating new residential mortgage business in the southern region of Sonoma County, including Petaluma, Sonoma, Rohnert Park and Cotati.
In addition, Cyndi Perez, assistant vice president and deposit compliance and operational risk manager, earned the certified regulatory compliance manager designation through the Institute of Certified Bankers.
Health Care
Marc Shapiro, M. D., a longtime Lake County physician, was appointed chief medical officer for Redbud Community Hospital in Clearlake.West County Health Centers’ teen clinic advisory board member Jesus Marcos Garcilazo was recognized by the Sonoma County Department of Health Services as a 2008 Public Health Champion for Youth Leadership. In other company news, Jennifer Neeley was named the new fundraising manager.

Senior Access in San Rafael named Erik Flatt executive director of Drake Terrace at San Rafael and president of the board. Five new board members are Tony Hurst, retired financial planner and analyst; Nancy Mack, owner of Home Care Connections; Marsha Roberts, human resources consultant; Robyn Torres of Genworth Financial; and Erin Winter, owner of Hired Hands at Home.The Volunteer Center of Sonoma County elected new officers to the center’s board of directors. Kim McEachron, vice president of human resources for Medtronic in Santa Rosa, is board president; Mark Mathewson, director of marketing services for Jackson Family Wines, is vice president; Nina Drake, vice president of human resources at Exchange Bank, is secretary; and Mkulima Britt, vice president of operations for Clover Stornetta Farms,
is treasurer. Each will serve a two-year term.
