Wednesday, October 29, 2008
Microcyn Wound Care OTC has been cleared by the FDA for moistening absorbent wound dressings and cleaning minor cuts and burns, superficial abrasions and minor irritations of the skin. A different iteration of the super-oxidized, pH-balanced wound cleanser is undergoing FDA trials for use in the treatment of serious wounds and burns.
"There has been increasing demand from the U.S. consumers for over-the-counter access to the Microcyn technology," said Oculus CEO and founder Hoji Alimi. "Based upon our successful test marketing and positive feedback from U.S. physicians, we believe Microcyn Wound Care OTC will provide consumers with an exciting and demonstrative wound care alternative." The product was also recently released to the U.S. podiatry market.
Microcyn Wound Care OTC can be ordered for $20 plus shipping, handling and tax by phone at 1-800-759-9305 and via the Web site www.oculus.com/us/otc.
According to Oculus Director of Public and Investor Relations Dan McFadden, Oculus will seek distributors and retailers once meaningful sales have been generated by phone and Web site.
Oculus employs 56 worldwide, 36 in its Petaluma headquarters.
