Former Scandia worker accused of touching girls

A Rohnert Park man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion he inappropriately touched four young girls at Scandia Family Fun Center where he worked, police reported.
Nicholas Andrew Dittmore, 23, was arrested about 7 a.m. on suspicion of four counts of child molestation, said Rohnert Park police Sgt. Joe Ferronato. Dittmore was being held in Sonoma County Jail in lieu of $400,000 bail.
Dittmore allegedly touched the girls, all about 8, while working in the video arcade of the Rohnert Park business, Ferronato said.
A bystander told police he saw Dittmore touch the girls on Oct. 19, Ferronato said, and police were called that same day.
Dittmore was fired as soon as the allegations were reported to management, the sergeant said.
On Wednesday, detectives arrested Dittmore as he showed up for work at a Santa Rosa business.
Ferronato declined to release further details about the alleged incidents.
Scandia fronts Highway 101 in western Rohnert Park and includes miniature golf, a video game arcade, fast food and bumper cars.
A manager at Scandia declined to answer questions Wednesday but referred to a prepared statement:
"Scandia Family Fun Center is currently working with the police department and cooperating fully with their investigation into what occurred," said Kelsey Mendoza, reading from the statement.
"Scandia does not condone any type of harmful, offensive or unwanted contact by its employees toward its guests. We take this matter very seriously and will continue to work with the police until the matter is completely resolved," Mendoza said.
