Organizing consultant Nancy Moock was elected membership director of the National Association of Professional Organizers, San Francisco Chapter.

Construction

The North Coast chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies elected Bob Ost of Ost Engineering Inc. 2009-2010 president. Other officers include Erik Olsborg with BACE Geotechnical, vice president; Tim Reynolds of Miller Pacific Engineering Group, secretary; and Andy Bordessa of Civil Design Consultants, treasurer.

Government

Fred Stoll of Petaluma was honored as “2009 Veteran of the Year” for the 6th Assembly District by Assemblymember Jared Huffman.

Health Care

Bruce Hiner joined PsychStrategies in Santa Rosa as a psychologist specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents. PsychStrategies provides child therapy, couples counseling, alcohol treatment, drug treatment and individual therapy throughout Sonoma County.

Insurance

Gallagher BPI in Larkspur, a branch of Benefit Services Inc., hired Teri Graf as account executive and Jason DiLorenzo as benefits consultant. Ms. Graf  most recently served as director of client services at Craford Benefit Consultants. Mr. DiLorenzo was director of client development at Lockton Insurance Brokers.

Nonprofit Organizations

Jim Davidson, chief financial officer for the Sonoma County Tourism Bureau in Santa Rosa, joined the finance and audit committee of Becoming Independent, the nonprofit agency that provides educational and employment opportunities and other support services to people with disabilities and their families in Sonoma, Napa and Solano counties.

Wine

The Henry Wine Group in Benicia promoted Peter Baedeker from senior vice president of sales to president. The Henry Wine Group of California is an independent fine wine distributor, importer and broker.

The Napa Valley Grapegrowers elected Dawnine Dyer of Dyer Vineyard to the board of directors. Re-elected to their final terms were Bruce Phillips of Vine Hill Ranch, Sam Turner of Vista Vineyard Management and David Beckstoffer of Beckstoffer Vineyards. Mike Fisher of Hidden Knoll Vineyard and Jim Verhey of Silverado Winegrowers will serve their second terms. Other NVG directors include Stan Boyd, John Conover, Nancy Duckhorn, Bill Hanna, Larry Hyde, Ryan MacDonnell, Steve Moulds, Julie Nord, Pete Richmond and Jon Ruel.

Erica Valentine, a marketing and sales executive with more than 25 years in the wine industry, joined Napa-based Scion Advisors as a senior associate.

St. Supery Vineyards & Winery hired Ron Johnson as senior vice president of sales. Mr. Johnson has more than three decades of wine industry sales and marketing experience. Winemaker Michael Scholz rejoined the winery, and Emma Swain became CEO following the retirement of Michaela Rodeno. Ms. Rodeno remains the only non-family member on the company’s board of directors.

Ray Chadwick of Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines was elected Wine Institute chairman for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.  Also elected were Tom Klein of Rodney Strong Vineyards in Healdsburg, first vice chairman; David Kent of the Wine Group in San Francisco, second vice chairman; Kathleen Heitz Myers of Heitz Wine Cellars in St. Helena, treasurer; and Jose Fernández of Constellation Wines U.S., secretary.
