NAPA - How Napa community and business leaders are shaping the future of the city's blossoming downtown and what's making the city center thrive will be addressed at a conference Aug. 27 in Napa.

Napa Mayor Jill Techel, along with Craig Smith, executive director of the Napa Downtown Association, and Napa Economic Development Director Cassandra Walker will shed light on downtown merchants and key properties. They'll be joined by Dickenson Peatman & Fogarty director Kevin Teague with insights from potential investors in the city center.

Also on the schedule at the Meritage Resort Impact Napa event are Paul Price, executive director of the Napa County Transportation Planning Agency, and Felix Riesenberg, water resources engineer with the Napa Flood and Water Conservation District.

Produced by the Business Journal, the conference runs from 2 to 4:30 p.m., with a networking hour of wine and hors d'oeuvres to follow.
