SANTA ROSA – The chamber of commerce-created Santa Rosa Manufacturing Group unveiled Monday a property casualty, benefits and workers’ comp insurance purchasing program that could save members between 3 and 15 percent on benefits costs.

The trade association launched as a separate entity last year by the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce represents about 160 midsized manufactures in the area, including companies with five to several hundred employees. Though based in Santa Rosa, members are also located in Cloverdale, San Rafael, Petaluma, Healdsburg and Napa.

“This is an important moment in time for our area’s manufacturers,” group President Dick Herman said.

“This program will make it possible for both the eight-employee machine shop or the major-tier aerospace player with several hundred employees to attract and retain key talent, offer more choices, get access to services like specialized employee training and HR support all while reducing costs and saving their employees money at the same time.”

Vantreo Insurance Brokerage was chosen to offer the program after month-long competitive search.

It is common for professional groups to pool membership to purchase products and services at lower prices. The formation of has made that possible for the region’s critical small manufacturers.
