John Brodey joined Sequoia Pacific Mortgage of Santa Rosa as a reverse mortgage specialist. Previously, Mr. Brodey was with Fairway Independent Mortgage in Los Angeles, where he established its first reverse mortgage branch.
Nina Laramore of Laramore Communications in Santa Rosa won the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association Better Newspaper Contest first place award in the Best Health or Medical Story category for a story she wrote for the Orcas Island newspaper, the Islands’ Sounder, on a heart attack patient whose life was saved during a snow storm. Ms. Laramore commuted between Santa Rosa and Orcas Island for a year while working as a part-time staff reporter for the newspaper.

Erik Greeny joined Sonoma State University as associate vice president for development. Prior to joining SSU, Mr. Greeny served for four years as the senior director of development for the College of Business and Lucas Graduate School of Business, where he helped raised $19 million in gifts and gift commitments.
Prima Medical Group hired Dr. Singh, a family medicine physician, to practice in its Sonoma office. Dr. Singh comes to Sonoma from her private practice in Palm Springs.
At an award dinner sponsored by the Lytton Indian Tribe, the National Alliance on Mental Illness Sonoma County in Santa Rosa awarded Dyana Foldvary, Recovery Through the Arts; Lt. Dave House, Criminal Justice; Marilyn MacLean, Family Advocate; Zachariah Geyer, Client Advocate; Alexis Wilson, Youth Voice; and Dr. Steven Ranish, Treatment Provider.
Santa Rosa Chamber board member Bob Reynolds of Innovative Business Solutions was awarded the Diversity Award by the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County. Mr. Reynolds was nominated for leadership in the chamber's Worksite Held Employee English Learning adult program.
Windsor Realtor Melody Montero was recognized as Outstanding Board Volunteer for her work with Community Action Partnership of Sonoma.
