Construction

Design firm Stantec, with a branch in Petaluma, ranked in the top 10 in Building Design magazine’s annual World Architecture 100 survey. Stantec ranked within the top 10 in five categories, as No. 10 in North America, and as No. 22 in the global top 100 list.

Education

Applications are now being accepted for the scholarship program established by Healdsburg-based Wilson Winery to assist vineyard workers’ children in higher education. The student must be at least a high school senior, a resident of Sonoma County and the child of a vineyard worker. Green

Assemblymember Jared Huffman presented his monthly Sustainable North Bay Award to Cotati-based Park Avenue Catering, the only certified green caterer in Sonoma County.

Nonprofit & Community Organizations

Novato-based Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. and its employees donated $94,496 to the American Red Cross to support the relief and redevelopment efforts in Haiti.

Technology

MarketLive Inc. in Petaluma, an e-commerce software and service provider for midsized specialty retailers, was selected by Ulla Popken, a worldwide multichannel retailer of quality women's plus-sized clothing headquartered in Maryland, as its e-commerce platform vendor.

Remedy Interactive Inc., a Sausalito provider of enterprise software solutions to prevent workplace injuries and reduce injury-related costs, said all of its 2009 customers extended their contracts to use the company's flagship enterprise injury prevention software solution, OES Office.

Telecommunications

Four new Verizon Wireless cell sites expand 3G wireless coverage in Dillon Beach, from north on Oceana Drive, south on Marine View Drive and east on Dillon Beach Road; in San Rafael, from north to Point San Pedro Road, south on Highway 101 and east on Highway 580, from the Highway 101 and Highway 580 junction, and west to Highway 101 and Yacht Club Drive; on Highway 12 between Santa Rosa and Sebastopol; and downtown Petaluma along Highway 101.

Wine

Healdsburg-based Gracianna Winery was awarded three top medals at the 2010 San Francisco Wine Competition: gold for 2007 Gracianna Bacigalupi zinfandel and silver for 2007 Gracianna Bacigalupi pinot and 2008 Gracianna Bacigalupi pinot.

Sonoma-based Foley Family Wines will use shipping services from Inertia Beverage Group in Napa for its direct-to-consumer fulfillment needs for seven of its brands.
