Straus Family Creamery in Marshall is the nation’s first creamery to achieve Non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) Verification for all its products and will carry the “Non-GMO Project Verified” seal on all its packaging. The Non-GMO Project is a nonprofit collaboration of food producers, retailers and agricultural suppliers.
For its recycling efforts Oxbow Public Market in Napa received the 2009 Recycling Award from the city of Napa and Napa Recycling and Waste Services, a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from First District Rep. Representatives from the Rutherford Appellation Wineries and Rutherford Dust Society presented the Rutherford Grange with a $10,000 donation to support the grange’s restoration project, including repairs to the building interior structure, exterior facade and community event revitalization. Valley Gate Vineyards of Napa Valley announced Top It Off Bottling of Sonoma entered into an agreement to utilize the advanced bottling line at Valley Gate’s bonded winery and custom crush facility. Primarily a mobile on-site bottling firm, Top It Off will be able to increase its custom bottling capacities and expand its presence in Napa Valley.
