Ben Franklin Press & Label Co. of Napa received two gold awards, including Best of Show, for outstanding achievement in wine labels at the 2010 Showcase of Print/Design Excellence. The Best of Show prize was given for a label produced for Lancaster Estate.  Another gold was awarded for a label produced for Round Pond Estate.

Webistree was selected by the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce as the first company to participate in its virtual incubator program, Entrepreneurial Pathways Program. Webistree combines an e-commerce platform with built-in marketing activities such as Web design, development and SEO to provide a one-stop shop for growing an online business. As part of the program, Webistree will receive mentoring and services to grow its business in terms of revenue, profitability and personnel.


State Assemblymember Jared Huffman named Equator Estate Coffees & Teas of San Rafael as his “2010 Small Business of the Year” for the Sixth Assembly District. Equator Estate Coffees & Teas is a women–owned company that procures coffees from growers who practice responsible land stewardship, bio-friendly farming techniques and utilize labor-friendly operations.


San Rafael-based Duke Marketing, an integrated marketing communications firm, was retained by Tavistock Restaurants to provide public relations duties for the company and its multiple restaurant concepts.

Nonprofit & Community Organizations

Wine Road in Healdsburg donated $25,000 to the Redwood Empire Food Bank from its record-breaking sales at the Barrel Tasting event in March. The event had more than 25,000 attendees from 47 states. In addition to donating $1 per every ticket sold, another $2,800 was donated to the organization from Barrel Tasting attendees who contributed when ordering their event tickets online.

S.I.P. Kids will provide free digital fingerprinting and photos for all children and education for children and their families on how to avoid unsafe situations. The free event is at Manly Honda, 2750 Corby Ave., Santa Rosa, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 12 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 13.


The Bay Area Toll Authority expanded its FasTrak retail distribution network to more than 125 Walgreens stores around the Bay Area as well as at 100 Safeway supermarkets and two dozen Costco warehouses. New customers who pick up a FasTrak toll tag at a participating retailer from May 15 to July 15 can get up to $10 in free tolls.
