SONOMA -- Deja Lightner, a 12-year veteran in the staffing and recruiting industry, is joining the Nelson & Associates office in the North Bay, the Nelson company said today.

Ms. Lightner will leave Robert Half International, one of Nelson’s largest competitors, after 11 years with the international staffing and recruiting firm, for which she helped launch its first North Bay office in Santa Rosa in 2001.

Ms. Lightner will assume the role of vice president of business development for Nelson, which has about 30 branches throughout the Bay Area. Her expertise is in the areas of finance and accounting, administrative, health care, wine and non-profit organizations.

In 2004, while with Robert Half International, she took over an internal team, which later became one of the top three teams in international sales status, according to Nelson. In 2007, she became regional vice president for three North Bay offices and Honolulu.

“I was drawn to Nelson because of the company’s entrepreneurial spirit, its involvement in the community and because it is locally owned and operated,” Ms. Lightner said.

Added Craig Nelson, executive vice president of Nelson staffing services, “Her background, experience with a variety of industries and her network here in the North Bay are all big wins for us.”
