NAPA — Silverado Resort in Napa Valley has a new director of sales and marketing in 28-year hospitality veteran Connie Hagston, according to New Jersey-based Dolce Hotels and Resorts.

Dolce earlier this month took over management of the sprawling resort and spa after its purchase by a partnership that includes golf legend Johnny Miller.

Ms. Hagston will oversee development of a seasonal resort strategy and driving group and leisure nights, according to Dolce. She previously worked for The Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort and Spa in Sonoma, where she was responsible for $20 million in overall sales.

The new management company touted Ms. Hagston’s experience at the Sonoma spa, where she implemented a strategy that bolstered wedding events by 252 percent and banquet revenue by 132 percent, according to Dolce.

Ms. Hagston, a Colorado native, began her career in 1981 as a sales coordinator at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs. She then went onto sales positions in Dallas, at The Mansion on Turtle Creek, the Grand Kempiniski, also in Dallas, and the Stouffer Nashville in Tennessee.

Before coming to Sonoma, she was director of sales and marketing for Renaissance Atlanta Downtown Hotel from 2000 to 2004. Prior to that, she worked at another Atlanta hotel, the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel, from 1994 to 2000.

Earlier in July, Mr. Miller, of San Francisco, and two Rug Doctor executives, founder Roger Kent and current CEO Tim Wall, purchased the over 300-acre resort that has two 18-hole golf courses for a sum that was not revealed.

Dolce replaces Xanterra Parks and Resorts as the management company. Offers for Silverado reached as much as $36 million, according to PFK Capital, a San Francisco-based consulting firm that brokered the sales of the resort. The actual sale price was not disclosed.

Dolce Hotels and Resorts, majority-owned by Broadreach Capital Partners, operates 27 hotels and resorts in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Georgia, Michigan, Colorado, California, Ontario, Belgium, France, Spain and Germany, among other places. Its other California location is the Hayes Mansion in San Jose.
