The North Coast Association of Health Underwriters in Concord, a chapter of the California Association of Health Underwriters, contributed $2,593 to the Santa Rosa Junior College Nursing Program.

More than $1,000 was donated to the Sonoma County YWCA to mark the 10th anniversary publication and dinner gala for the North Bay Business Journal’s Women in Business Awards in June. The donation was made possible by the Business Journal and Debbie Meekins of Sonoma Bank, a founder of the Women in Business awards, as well as contributions from gala attendees.

The fourth annual Eric Medlen Nitro Night Charity Dinner at Stone Tree Golf Club in Novato raised a record amount of $27,500 for Speedway Children’s Charities.

To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation in San Rafael announced recipients of its 2010 grant awards, totaling $275,000. North Bay recipients included The Ceres Community Project of Sonoma, Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic of Marin, Coastal Health Alliance of West Marin, Sonoma Institute for Health and Healing, Marin Center for Independent Living, Marin General Hospital, Martin O'Neil Cancer Center at St. Helena Hospital, Meals of Marin and the Sutter North Bay Women's Health Center in Sonoma.


J Vineyards & Winery in Healdsburg introduced two new colorful cycling jerseys that will benefit ongoing efforts to fight breast and blood cancer. The jerseys are available at the winery's visitor center or online at They are $115 each, with 10 percent of the proceeds going to the respective organizations.

Napa Valley Wine Storage and Storage by George has added 1,000 square feet for wine storage, creating a total of 8,500 square feet for case wine storage.
