Business Organizations

The board of directors of the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce will initiate a process to endorse candidates in the November election for Santa Rosa City Council. Through its political action committee, the chamber will invite candidates to interviews, ask them to answer a series of written questions, and hear from them at the Sept. 15 Good Morning Santa Rosa.

Business & Professional Services

San Francisco-based Environmental Science Associates, a California environmental consulting firm with an office in Petaluma, joined with Philip Williams & Associates Ltd., a San Francisco-based environmental hydrology firm specializing in river and coastal restoration. The merger deepens ESA’s technical services in its water practice.

Magnolia LTC Management Services Inc. of Santa Rosa launched a new website at www.magnolialtc.com highlighting Magnolia's range of insurance program management services.

Novato-based Willis Lease Finance Corp., lessor of commercial jet engines, signed an agreement with SuperJet International to purchase six Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft and options for four additional aircraft. The memorandum of understanding has a value of up to $300 million under current list pricing and economic conditions.

Construction

Tricorp Construction of Sacramento and Hearn Construction of Vacaville signed an agreement to combine the resources of the two companies into a major construction company to be named Tricorp/Hearn.

Food & Beverage

Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery in Sebastopol won Best in Show and gold medal honors for its Three Peppercorn Chevre at the California State Fair California Cheese Competition. Redwood Hill Farm’s Camellia also was awarded a gold medal.

Government

The cities of Napa, American Canyon, St. Helena and Calistoga; the town of Yountville; and the county of Napa will jointly convene a public meeting on Monday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Yountville Community Center to discuss the potential for consolidation of local government services. The meeting is open to the public.

Green

For the fifth time Napa-based FRG Waste Resources was named Distinguished Distributor for 2009 by privately held Arkansas-based Industrial Equipment Supplier.

Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa at its fourth-annual Shred-A-Thon event shredded 20,000 pounds of sensitive documents and collected more than 3,100 pounds of eWaste for recycling by Goodwill Industries.

Santa Rosa-based Zap Electric Motors’ Zaptruck XL and Zapvan Shuttle were qualified by the Internal Revenue Service for a 10 percent tax credit up to a maximum of $2,500, if purchased after Feb. 17, 2009, and before Jan. 1, 2012. The tax credit is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Health Care

The American Heart Association has recognized Kaiser Permanente San Rafael and Santa Rosa Stroke Center in a listing in the recent US News and Reports Best Hospital Issue.

Nonprofit & Community Organizations

Community Institute for Psychotherapy is seeking restaurants and sponsors for its first "Loving Spoonfuls: Marin's Soup and Dessert Challenge" event, a fundraising benefit on Jan. 22, 2011. The 12th Annual Wine Celebration benefitting The V Foundation on Aug. 6 and 7 in the Napa Valley raised $2.2 million for cancer research. The event, a fundraiser for sportscaster and coach Jim Valvano's foundation, has raised more than $35 million since 1998.

Wine

Beringer Vineyards in Napa announced a partnership with multi-Grammy winning singer Michael Buble, establishing Beringer as the exclusive wine of the Canadian singer's highly successful "Crazy Love Tour" beginning November 2010.  The partnership will include offers and experiences for Buble fans at retail, restaurant and concert venues and online components throughout the duration of the tour.

Napa-based Cobblestone Vineyards’ pinot noir from its estate vineyard in Martinborough, New Zealand, was awarded trophies for both Champion Pinot Noir as well as the overall Champion Wine of the Show at the 2010 Romeo Bragato Wine Awards in New Zealand.

Rodney Strong Vineyards in Healdsburg added a functionally and visually redesigned website and a recipe exchange blog, enhancing its active and on-going digital presence on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

V2 Wine Group of Sonoma will handle sales and marketing for Toad Hollow Vineyards of Healdsburg in a new partnership.
