SANTA ROSA -- Tektronix Inc. today announced plans to open a radio frequency, or RF, design center in Santa Rosa. The Beaverton, Ore.-headquartered maker of test, measurement and monitoring instruments just opened a similar center in Santa Clara.

The new center is intended to expand Tektronix' efforts to develop next-generation RF and microwave test capabilities. According to a company release, Tektronix will "have more options for attracting world-class technical talent ... by adding this new center in a desirable and highly livable community."

The company intends to hire approximately 15 local RF design engineers and researchers during the initial ramp up phase.

"Tektronix continues to build a premier test and measurement company to support some of the most dynamic and fast-moving segments of the electronics industry," said Amir Aghdaei,  Tektronix president.

"It is critical that we build on our heritage of innovation by accelerating our presence and capabilities in new and adjacent measurement technologies. The Bay Area offers an excellent talent pool to draw from as we look for new domain experts to join our company and support our growth journey."
