SONOMA COUNTY - The Sonoma County Committee on School District Organization oversees the organization of local school districts and facilitates district consolidations, unifications, and territory transfers. This 11-member committee currently has two openings and individuals interested in serving are asked to apply by March 15.
The current openings are for partial terms and will be filled through appointment by the Sonoma County Superintendent of Schools. The vacancies are in the First and Second Supervisorial Districts. Applicants must be registered voters, reside within the supervisorial district they wish to represent, and be knowledgeable about the county’s school system. The term for the First District member will expire at the end of 2011; the Second District term will end in 2013. Public school employees are not eligible to serve on this committee.
