Brad Calkins was named executive director of the Santa Rosa Convention and Visitors Bureau. A 20-year Santa Rosa hospitality veteran, Mr. Calkins  was a founding board member of the Sonoma County Tourism Bureau.

Business & Professional Services

Sarah Parker joined the wine law group at Gaw Van Male's Napa office. Ms. Parker previously worked at a vineyard management company and currently serves on the city of St. Helena Planning Commission.

Dave Wasson, owner of Wasson Insurance Services in Rohnert Park, is now a member of the Master Elite IRA Advisor group, an organization of financial advisors who are dedicated to being leaders in the IRA industry.


Interior designer Lauren Brandwein joined Sebastopol-based Leff Construction as selections coordinator. Ms. Brandwein continues to run Lauren Brandwein Design, a private practice specializing in residential remodeling.

Health Care

New trustees for the Community Health Foundation of Greater Petaluma are  Andy Eber, a non-profit fundraising and development consultant; Dion Reif, director of a seven-company Petaluma enterprise; and Jay Silverberg, senior vice president with a Washington, D.C.-based public relations firm.


Dr. Eduardo Ochoa was selected by the White House as a nominee for the position of Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education. Dr. Ochoa is currently provost and vice president for academic affairs at Sonoma State University.


David Majerus was promoted to assistant winemaker of Bella Vineyards and Wine Caves in the Dry Creek Valley. Mr. Majerus was previously Bella's enologist, a position he held since 2009.

Kathleen Meek joined the Somerston Wine Company in the Napa Valley as national sales manager. Ms. Meek was most recently western division manager of Banville & Jones Wine Merchants.

TITAN Wine & Spirits in Southern California recruited Napa Valley wine consultant Allen Balik with the goal to pair   premium California brands with it parent company TGIC's national sales and marketing arm.
