Santa Rosa electric car maker ZAP and its majority owned subsidiary Jonway Automobile in Beijing appointed Benjamin Zhu Chief Financial Officer. Since 2009 Mr. Zhu has served as deputy CFO of Beijing Auto, Foton, one of the largest automobile companies in China.

Construction

Petaluma-based general contractor Midstate Construction Corporation hired John Bare as project estimator. Mr. Bare was previously with Nordby Construction Co. Pat Wolfe was assigned as project manager to the recently awarded College of Marin Performing Arts Modernization project in Kentfield.

Trustee Katie Wetzel Murphy is president-elect of the board of trustees of Santa Rosa-based Sonoma Country Day School. Mrs. Murphy, a partner in Alexander Valley Vineyards in Healdsburg, is a past president of the school’s parent organization.

Jacob Hansen is tennis director and James Rutherford is head professional at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa. Both have managed tennis programs at other luxury resorts, including Naples Grande Beach Resort in Naples, Florida, and Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, California.

Christian Kortebein joined Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. in Novato as senior vice president and chief actuary. Previously Mr. Kortebein was deputy chief actuary for Munich’s Allianz Group, Fireman’s Fund German parent company.
