Bank of Marin announced that the 18th Annual Spirit of Marin Awards Luncheon will take place on Thursday, Sept. 23, at the historic St. Vincent’s School for Boys in San Rafael. Keynote speakers for this year’s event will be Dr. David Coon, superintendent/president of College of Marin and Dr. Mary Marcy, president of Dominican University of California. Entertainment will be provided by the Marin Youth Symphony. Luncheon reservations are required and are $50 per person before Sept. 16 and $60 after that date. Travis Credit Union in Vacaville was among six local businesses to be honored for making their workplace more “family-friendly.” First 5 Solano presented awards to business employees at a Solano Economic Development Corporation breakfast event Wednesday, June 29, at the Fairfield Hilton Garden Inn. This is a group of chamber of commerce and Solano EDC members who advise First 5 Solano on ways to increase awareness and support in the business community for early childhood investments.Government

The Sonoma County Department of Health Services (DHS) relocated its offices for the DHS Administrative Services to 3313 Chanate Road, Santa Rosa, during the weekend of Aug. 27 and 28. The move from existing office space at 475 Aviation Blvd., Santa Rosa, furthers the department’s goals to consolidate and centralize administrative services for cost efficiencies and improved communication. The move timing was coordinated to minimize the impact on the public and staff by moving over the weekend rather than during regular business hours.  Office hours and phone numbers for the staff have not changed due to the relocation.Hospitality and Tourism

The Meritage Resort and Spa has joined Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI). The AAA Four-Diamond hotel will now receive dedicated national sales services and support from ALHI and its professional sales force throughout North America to the meetings and incentive/recognition marketplace. When The Meritage Resort and Spa’s $40 million expansion opens early next year, it will have more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and covered outdoor meeting space and 320 luxurious guestrooms. Its partnership with ALHI will help the resort to continue to bring conferences and events to Napa. Bernard Portet, owner of the Argentinean Malbec brand Ñandú, announced that the Ñandú wine will be imported and distributed by Polaris Wines, LLC effective immediately. Polaris Wines is the new wine venture between Portet and Don Chase. Mr. Portet first created and imported Ñandú in 2004 with the goal to offer consumers an approachable, full-bodied Malbec that provided a great value for quality.
