NORTH BAY -- Nearly two dozen North Bay restaurants have been named to the "Bib Gourmand" list of the forthcoming Michelin Guide San Francisco, Bay Area and Wine Country, a ranking that indicates the Michelin inspectors' favorites for good value.
Bib Gourmand selections are restaurants serving two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less, tax and gratuity not included, according to Michelin North America.
A total of 77 Bay Area restaurants were named to the Bib Gourmand list, with 23 in either Sonoma, Marin or Napa counties. The list is separate from the famous and highly sought Michelin star ratings, which will be announced when the guide is released on Tuesday, Oct. 25. The Michelin Guide and the star ratings began in Europe in 1997.
