SANTA ROSA -- Traffic at Charles M. Schulz--Sonoma County Airport grew by 5.6 percent in October from September, with more than 18,700 passengers flying in and out of Santa Rosa on Horizon Air.

In September, just over 18,400 passengers flew in and out of Santa Rosa on flights operated by Horizon, the sister carrier of Alaska Airlines. 

Ridership is also up  by 11.7 percent compared to this time last year, according to figures released by the airport. More than 173,300 passengers utilized the Santa Rosa airport this year compared to just over 155,100 last year.

Ridership peaked in July of this year, when over 19,400 passengers came to and from the airport on five flights operated daily to Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland and Las Vegas.
