Redwood Credit Union was recently recognized by Schools Plus for "twenty-two years of support and leadership critical to the quality of life in Sonoma County." Vacaville-based Travis Credit Union was awarded a $1,500 matching grant from the Armed Forces Financial Network. The 2011 AFFN matching grant was awarded to Travis Credit Union in support of the credit union’s support of Travis Air Force Base personnel, their families, and the greater military and civilian communities. EAH Housing in San Rafael provides a place to call home for more than 7,000 children and teenagers at affordable housing properties throughout California and Hawaii. To support these students, the organization  announced the launch of the EAH Housing Scholarship Fund.  The Fund is designed to ensure long term success for students. Throughout the course of their college education, scholarship recipients will receive annual awards. As opposed to one-time grants, these ongoing scholarships will continue to open doors for students as they shape their futures. BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc.(Nasdaq:BMRN) announced that enrollment is complete for the pivotal Phase 3 trial for N-acetylgalactosamine 6-sulfatase (GALNS or BMN-110), intended for the treatment of the lysosomal storage disorder Mucopolysaccharidosis Type IVA (MPS IVA), also called Morquio A Syndrome. Multiple Organics in San Rafael recently announced that its  organic chia seed will soon be available as fair trade, certified through IMO's Fair For Life program. Certification is expected to be complete by June. Additionally, these chia farmers will be part of the Multiple Organics' solar lighting project (www.multipleorganics.com/solarproject), which provides solar panels for farmers in remote areas of Peru with no access to electricity. This project has already provided light to 200 organic cacao and quinoa farmers and their families and will extend to chia farmers this spring. The companies will continue to be locally-operated under the Advanced Security Systems name. The company has additional offices in Ukiah, Crescent City and Eureka.
