SANTA ROSA -- The Agilent Technologies Foundation has donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross in response to the Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado and pledged to match employee gifts to the effort up to $50,000.

One of the largest employers in Sonoma County, Agilent is also a major employer in Colorado Springs and throughout Colorado. More than 15,000 acres have burned in the region of Colorado Springs, threatening as many as 20,000 homes. As of today, the fire is 5 percent contained.

The fire -- one of several in Colorado over the past few weeks -- has forced evacuations throughout the state, including an Agilent facility in Colorado Springs.

Nearly 300 Red Cross disaster workers are in the area, and Agilent Technologies’ crisis team continues to monitor the fire on behalf of employees.

Those looking to donate can do so at or through the group's website for Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake counties ,
