Dominican University of California president Mary Marcy announced that the University will begin a search for a successor to Terry Tumey as director of athletics. Tumey, who has been Dominican’s A.D. since April of 2009, has accepted a similar position with the University of California, Davis. President Marcy said she plans to announce an acting athletics director later this month. Under Mr. Tumey’s leadership, Dominican won the Pacific West Conference’s Academic Achievement Award in its first two years in the conference plus the PacWest’s Community Engagement Award. Mr. Tumey also re-established the women’s and men’s cross country program at Dominican and guided the University through the process of funding and constructing a new athletics complex featuring a multi-purpose synthetic turf field and six new tennis courts. The board of Bank of Marin Bancorp (NASDAQ: BMRC), parent company of Bank of Marin, has appointed Michaela Rodeno as a director. Ms. Rodeno, a Napa Valley resident, brings 40 years of business and wine industry experience to the company board, which now has 12 active members. During her career in the wine industry, Rodeno was employee number two and the vice president of marketing for Domaine Chandon, and was the first CEO of St. Supery Winery – one of the industry’s very few female CEOs. During her 21-year tenure, she also served as a board director of Silicon Valley Bank for 10 years and served in leadership roles on the audit, compensation and lending committees during a time of significant growth for that Bank.Health care
El Camino Hospital in Mountain View announced that 21 individuals have been appointed to serve on six hospital board committees. The new members were selected for their subject matter expertise and come from a wide range of business, academic and health care backgrounds. They will advise the Hospital Board of Directors in the areas of governance, finance/investments, quality, executive compensation and audit/corporate compliance. From the North Bay, Mark Sickles, chairman and CEO of Mark W. Sickles, LLC in Sausalito, will join as part of the governance committee.
