Jason N. Glazier has joined Strategic Planning & Investment Advisors, a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc., working in the 100 E Street office in Santa Rosa.  Mr. Glazier brings 10 years of experience in the financial services industry working with local individuals, families, and businesses.  Additionally, Mr. Glazier holds the Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor designation and works closely with the LGBT community throughout Northern California.

Travis Credit Union announced the appointment of Francine Boards as vice president of business lending at the Vacaville credit union.   Ms. Boards will be responsible for leadership and strategic direction of the business lending and deposit services department. She previously served as the senior commercial credit officer at Travis Credit Union.  Preceding her employment with the credit union, she held senior management positions with One California Bank, Mechanics Bank and Civic Bank of Commerce where she focused primarily on small business lending.

Kaveh Barami, MD, has joined the staff of Kaiser Permanente’s Vacaville Medical Center as the county’s only neurosurgeon. Dr. Barami has practiced neurosurgery since 2003. He comes to Kaiser Permanente’s Vacaville Medical Center having recently completed his fellowship in complex spine surgery at Kaiser Permanente’s Oakland Medical Center. He has also completed a past fellowship in neuro-oncology. Previously, Dr. Barami practiced for many years with the Neurosurgery Group in northeast Florida, and received his medical training at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Irina deFischer, MD, a family physician and geriatrician at Kaiser Permanente, is the new president of the Marin Medical Society, a nonprofit organization that supports local physicians and their efforts to enhance the health of the community. She will serve as president of MMS through June 2013. Dr. deFischer has practiced medicine in Marin County since 1985. She has been affiliated with the Ross Valley Medical Clinic and Tamalpais Family Practice and has served as medical director for the Villa Marin Retirement Center and the Pine Ridge Care Center. She has worked at Kaiser Petaluma since 2003.

Walt Mills, MD, a family physician at Kaiser Santa Rosa, is the new president of the Sonoma County Medical Association, a nonprofit organization that supports more than 1,000 local physicians and their efforts to enhance the health of the community. Dr. Mills will serve as president of SCMA through June 2013. Dr. Mills has practiced medicine in Sonoma County since 1986. He is currently assistant chief of family medicine services at Kaiser Santa Rosa and also serves as deputy director of the Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency. He will become program director of the Kaiser Family Medicine Residency when it opens in 2014. Dr. Mills has served as CEO and president of Primary Care Associates, as founder of the Northern California Center for Well-Being, and as chief medical officer of the Southwest Community Health Center.Nonprofits

Richard Power recently joined the board of the Climate Protection Campaign. A founding member of  Santa Rosa law firm Carle, Mackie, Power & Ross LLP, Mr. Power is a tax attorney whose practice focuses on low-income tax credits, real estate, partnerships and tax exempt entities. Mr. Power has helped lead many local organizations including Sebastopol Rotary and the Laguna Foundation.Technology

TeamLogic IT in Santa Rosa announced Steve Fox has joined the company as a technician. Mr. Fox will be responsible for servicing the computer needs of the company’s business clients. Mr. Fox has over 20 years experience as an IT consultant to small, medium, and Fortune 500 businesses.  He’s a Microsoft-Certified tech with broad experience designing, building, and operating Windows environments of all sizes.  Most recently he was network engineer at Sonoma Valley Hospital, where he was responsible for all aspects of the hospital’s network, including the support of over 40 servers.  Previously, he held positions as senior engineer at Portola Systems and owner of Fox Consulting.Wine

Rodney Strong Wine Estates hired Mark Mathewson as hospitality/direct to consumer director. He was most recently the direct to consumer manager at Sterling Vineyards in Napa Valley. Before that he spent 16 years at Jackson Family Wines, where he was the director of marketing. He was the event chairman of the Sonoma County Human Race and served as the vice president board member of the Sonoma County Volunteer Center.

Rodney Strong also hired Paul Lorenzen as the north central district manager, a new position. Mr. Lorenzen's region will include the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, and North and South Dakota. He has 23 years experience within the wine industry, both with distributors and producers including Johnson Brothers in Minneapolis, Griggs Cooper (Wirtz Beverage) in Minnesota, Robert Mondavi, Kobrand, and Fosters Wine Estates.

Evening Land Vineyard in Santa Rosa  appointed  Lisa Sambora as vice president of  finance. Ms. Sambora comes to ELV from Wilson Daniels and will report directly to Evening Land President and CEO Greg Ralston.  Ms. Sambora will be responsible for all financial, administrative, and non-winery operational functions.  Ms. Sambora spent the past 13 years as vice president of financial planning at Wilson Daniels.
