Recognizing the need for private student loans for its members, Travis Credit Union announced a new student loan program -- offered in partnership with Fynanz to help students graduate with less debt. Travis Credit Union refers students and families to the cuScholar Private Student Loan program.This program allows Travis Credit Union members to finance their college education while receiving low rates and borrowing benefits. As part of the nationwide CU Student Loans program, students may borrow as little as $2,000 or up to the cost of attendance per year, with a maximum of $120,000 in undergraduate loans or $160,000 in graduate loans. The funds may be used for any qualified educational expense, including past-due tuition bills.

Redwood Credit Union is hosting a free document shredding and information security event for the community, Saturday, August 18th from 8 am to 1 pm at their Administrative Offices located at 3033 Cleveland Avenue in Santa Rosa. Document shredding services will be provided by Shred-It and Integrity Shred, and e-waste recycling will be provided by Computer Recycling Center. The event will also feature a free educational seminar titled Credit & Debit Card Fraud: What to Look Out For. The seminar begins at 10:30 am and is in English, but bilingual resources will also be available for Spanish-speaking attendees.
