SANTA ROSA -- St. Joseph Health affiliated-Annadel Medical Group announced today that it is starting two specialty practices while adding 13 new physicians to the group, bringing the total number of providers to 60 across Sonoma County.
The new specialty practices will include gastroenterology, which focuses on the digestive system, and OB/GYN, both important specialties that will enable Annadel physicians to provide more comprehensive care, the medical group said.
The expansion represents the largest influx to date for the growing practice, which started in 2008 with a handful of physicians but has grown to 50 doctors and 10 nurse practitioners over the last couple of years.
The new gastroenterology specialty practices will be run by:
Joshua P. Beirne, MD, a board-certified gastroenterologist who maintained a private practice in Santa Rosa for the past several years. He served as a teaching fellow in the division of gastroenterology at the Brown University Alpert School of Medicine, Rhode Island Hospital, where he also completed his fellowship. He received his doctor of medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
