Describe your organization.
For nearly three decades, the Napa Valley Education Foundation (NVEF) has been supporting public schools in Napa Valley by mobilizing public support and providing leadership to inspire students to achieve their educational potential.
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
Served for nine years on the Napa Valley Education Foundation board and was granted Director Emeritus status upon retiring in 1997. In 1998, took on the directorship of the Foundation’s Music Connection program. The program has grown and now serves 3,000 students in the Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD) annually. In February of 2011, was voted on as the first Executive Director of the NVEF and are committed to the NVEF vision of inspiring youth to reach their full potential through vital educational programs and arts education in response to the needs of the 18,000 children in the NVUSD.

Executive Director of the NVEF, and Director of its program the Music Connection
What achievement are you most proud of?
for the past two years fundraising with the help of the community to sustain music in our elementary schools. Over 1300 students this past year were given the opportunity to begin musical education journeys.
What is your biggest challenge today?
What the next major project either under way or on the horizon?
continue to raise the funds to sustain music in our schools and find the means to reinstate general music at the 3rd grade level.

Fundraising software, admin assistance, help with marketing
How do you think your profession will change in the next five years?
most definitely more collaboration between non-profits and service organizations.
