Visit California CEO joins North Bay leaders at SSU conference

As president and CEO of the state's largest tourism marking organization, Caroline Beteta is among a growing roster of industry leaders that will take part in Sonoma State University's 2013 Economic Outlook Conference Feb. 27, "Game-Changers: Innovations and Leaders Transforming the North Bay Economy."

Ms. Beteta heads Visit California, a nonprofit working in close partnership with the state's Division of Tourism. Joining her to discuss game-changing companies in food, wine, beer and tourism will be Tracy Geldert, CEO of Francis Ford Coppola Presents, LLC, Tony Magee, founder of Lagunitas Brewing Company and John Crean, president and CEO of Estate Cheese/Sonoma Creamery.

A second panel focused on innovations in corporate financial and business strategy will include Robert Hunter, registered investment adviser, Mark Nelson, principal of the Mark Nelson Group and a speaker from the Marin Carbon Project.

Held for the first time at the Green Music Center's Weill Hall, the conference, arranged in partnership with the North Bay Business Journal, will run from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. and feature a keynote from lead donor to the center and former Citigroup chairman and CEO, Sandy Weill.

Dr. Robert Eyler, professor of economics at Sonoma State University and head of the university's Center for Regional Economic Analysis, will also present his annual economic outlook.
