Doug Wright, shareholder in charge of the International Tax Services Group of Burr Pilger Mayer, was selected as a new board member of the Northern California World Trade Center after receiving unanimous approval from current members. As part of the World Trade Center's Association, which operates in over 100 countries, the NorCal WTC is California's largest and most influential organization for international business, hosting events and programs throughout the year. Brian Pon, a partner in Financial Connections, a Corte Madera-based financial planning and wealth management firm, has been named Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member at Golden Gate University for 2012. Mr. Pon was selected for this award by the entire full-time faculty of the Edward S. Ageno School of Business for his commitment to students and excellence in teaching. Mr. Pon teaches tax planning in the university's Finance and Economics Department, a part-time position he has held since 2007.Business Organizations

Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce hired Steve Lyman as membership sales manager. Mr. Lyman, a Santa Rosa native, brings more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience . He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and has a B.S. in marketing.

Kim Link has been hired as the marketing project and research support with the Santa Rosa Convention & Visitors Bureau, focusing on special marketing, sales and media projects. She brings experience in marketing and events in the Russian River area.Education

Kristina Combs is the new executive director of human resources and labor relations at College of Marin. She replaces Anita Morris, who served a short time as interim executive director. Ms. Combs arrives at College of Marin from Alliant International University, headquartered in San Francisco. She was a senior administrative official responsible for academic and staff human resource programs for Alliant, an accredited university with five professional schools, 4,000 graduate and undergraduate students, 1,600 represented and non-represented faculty, staff and student employees. Health Care
