Matthew Taylor recently joined Sonoma Bank’s commercial banking office, located at 801 Fourth St. in Santa Rosa, as a commercial banker. Mr. Taylor comes to Sonoma Bank with more than 11 years of banking experience. He previously worked at other banks in Santa Rosa as a trust securities and portfolio specialist as well as a financial adviser. He is a graduate of Sonoma State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance.Construction

The U.S. Green Building Council Redwood Empire chapter announced the election of nine new members to its board of directors. Elected for two-year terms were Lisa Batto, Healthy Buildings Technology Group; Serena Coltrane-Briscoe, Ag Innovations Network; Ashley Roberts, Pacific Gas & Electric; Michael Whitaker, city of Santa Rosa Building Department; Jason Grant, Jason Grant Consulting; Blake Ridgway, Channel Lumber; Victoria Wells, Bradley Real Estate; Steve Sheldon, Ibis Builds; and Michelle LaVoie, Michelle LaVoie Interior Design. Armand Gilinsky, professor in the School of Business and Economics at Sonoma State University, was named as one of two recipients of the Bernie and Estelle Goldstein Award for Excellence in Scholarship. The award honors faculty who strive to remain a scholar while teaching. Recently, Dr. Gilinsky’s proposal for a new program certificate was chosen by the Green Music Center board of advisers. The creative arts and digital media business program provides opportunities for students not pursuing a business degree to be exposed to the interconnections between entrepreneurship and their chosen field of study.Nonprofits

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County added James Conners and Kimberly Baldwin to its resource development team. Mr. Conners spent six years with Boys & Girls Clubs in Rohnert Park, Petaluma and Sonoma before a stint as head of client relations for LINK Creative.

W3 Partners, a San Rafael-based real estate investment operating company, named Peter Mette managing partner. In his new role, Mr. Mette is charged with sourcing new deals in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Mette comes to W3 from KBS Realty Advisors in San Francisco, where he served for nearly eight years as senior vice president and director of acquisitions and dispositions. There, he opened and managed the San Francisco office and led more than $860 million of investments totaling 3.8 million-plus square feet of office and industrial properties.
