Diana Brennan, who has worked in Sonoma Raceway media relations since 1999, was promoted from director to senior director of media and community relations. Ms. Brennan will take over management of the raceway's department, overseeing all media communications as well as the facility's community initiatives, including the local chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.Finance

Altus Equity Group in Santa Rosa hired Kristy Brooks as operations manager. Ms. Brooks previously worked in finance roles with Hewlett-Packard and Staples, as well as a business manager at E*Trade. She was also a partner at the real estate investment firm Harrington Brooks Properties.Real Estate

Kyle Young is the newest member of commercial real estate brokerage Keegan & Coppin Company, Inc./ONCOR International's Santa Rosa office. Graduating from Arizona State University with a business management degree, Mr. Young specializes in sales and leasing for office and industrial properties.Technology

Novato-based Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical, Inc., appointed Eric Yuen, MD, chief medical officer and senior vice president. In this new role, Dr. Yuen will oversee clinical operations, clinical affairs, clinical sciences, data management and biometrics, and drug safety. Dr. Yuen came from Johnson & Johnson affiliate Janssen Alzheimer Immunotherapy R&D, LLC, where he was head of clinical development since 2009. Previously, he was director of clinical research, department of clinical neuroscience at the Merck Research Laboratories. In 2004, he joined J&J as senior director and neurology franchise medical leader. At J&J he held several executive positions including vice president, therapeutic area head, CNS in 2006 and vice president, scientific licensing from 2008 to 2009.Wine

Marla Carroll was named winemaker at Franciscan Estate Winery in St. Helena. Ms. Carroll received a degree in biotechnology from the University of California at Davis with a concentration in enology and fermentation science. she started her wine making career first during harvest at Charles Krug Winery in 2002 in the Napa Valley. In 2004, Ms. Carroll accepted a position with Franciscan Estate, spending seven years in a series of roles, including enologist and assistant winemaker.
