At a small business event in Santa Rosa on June 25, Wells Fargo awarded Modesto and Maria Quintana, co-owners of David’s Shoe Repair of Santa Rosa, for having the most dramatic renovation to their business. And as a result, the business will be featured on Wells Fargo ATM screens throughout the North Bay. In an effort to help small businesses succeed, Wells Fargo launched the Small Business Neighborhood Renovation Program in Santa Rosa. The company worked with Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County and Community Action Partnership to help “freshen up” some low-to-moderate income small businesses, so they could have an opportunity to get a second look and attract new customers. Small businesses in Santa Rosa applied for renovations and two businesses were selected. The renovations were made at no cost to the small-business owners. The businesses selected for renovations were David’s Shoe Repair and West Coast Cuts.Energy

Sonoma Mountain Village, a 200-acre Rohnert Park mixed-use community that combines existing commercial space with plans for new commercial space, homes and amenities, installed two free-to-use electric-vehicle charging stations at its event center. ChargePoint, the provider, has more than 12,000 charging stations worldwide. Users must sign up for a public station access card, which works similar to the FasTrak system. Petaluma Health Center earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star rating, a national symbol for protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency. The health center building performs in the top 20 percent of similar facilities nationwide for energy efficiency.Media

32Ten Studios, a San Rafael practical-effects production company for entertainment, advertising and corporate clientele, expanded its studio with three new capabilities. These additions are a 15-foot-by-30-foot ventilated paint booth, a small insert stage with a 10-foot-by-15-foot green screen, and the installation of a high resolution, 3D Systems ProJet HD 3000 three-dimensional printing system.Real Estate

Korbel Blanc de Noirs California methode champenoise sparkling wine was named “Best of Show, White” at the 2013 California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition, adding a new win to Guerneville-based Korbel Champagne Cellars. The award, one of the competition’s five “Best of Show” honors, was presented during a ceremony at the California State Capitol. First held in 1855, the fair's wine competition is the oldest and considered among the most prestigious judged events in North America. The 2013 competition attracted 2,625 entries from 709 California producers. The wines were evaluated by panels of wine industry professionals.
