Aleia Coate, formerly Sonoma Bank’s Sebastopol branch manager, is now managing the Santa Rosa main branch, located at 801 Fourth St. Ms. Coate has been with the bank for 14 years. In addition to the main branch, she also oversees the bank’s west Petaluma and east Petaluma branches. Ms. Coate has been involved with numerous organizations in the Sebastopol community, having been president of the Sebastopol Chamber of Commerce board. She also has served as president for the Rotary Club of Sebastopol. Additionally, she serves on the board of TLC Child and Family Services and is past president of Active 20-30 of Santa Rosa.

Sonoma Bank also recently hired Victoria Johnston to manage its Sebastopol branch. Ms. Johnston, who has 13 years of banking experience, comes to Sonoma from Wells Fargo Bank, where she most recently worked as a regional bank private banker. She holds Series 7, Series 66 and insurance licenses, and is a California notary. She is 2013--2014 president of the Sebastopol Sunrise Rotary Club, where she has been secretary and international chair.

Bank of Marin Bancorp hired Tani Girton as chief financial officer of the company and its subsidiary bank. Ms. Girton joins Bank of Marin with more than 25 years of experience in financial services, including risk management, treasury, and investment portfolio management. Most recently, she was executive vice president and treasurer at Bank of the West where she managed a team of more than 25 professionals. Prior to that, she was vice president of treasury capital markets at Charles Schwab & Company.Construction

Novato's W. Bradley Electric promoted Todd Garrett, DMC-E, to division manager of WBE Audio Visual. In this new role, he will focus on expanding the department’s volume, value engineering, education and integration. With early training as an IBEW Sound & Communication Technician, Mr. Garrett brings over 24 years of AV certifications and experience as a Navy communications and cryptographic technician, AV project manager, engineer, estimator and programmer. Michele Kangas, RN, of Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, presented by The DAISY Foundation -- an acronym for "Diseases Attacking the Immune System" -- and UnitedHealthcare. The DAISY Foundation’s recognition program is part of many hospitals’ recruitment and retention programs, helping to offset the acute shortage of nurses nationwide. Each month, nurses are selected by their nursing administration and peers to receive the DAISY Award, established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes.

Sonoma-based BeautifulPlaces appointed a new management team to drive growth at newly acquired McLaughlin Anderson Luxury Villas based in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. The new vice president and general manager is Stephanie Edwards, who has assumed overall responsibility for the company’s operations. Prior to joining BeautifulPlaces, she served as vice president of global consumer marketing for security software provider Kaspersky Lab.

The new director of sales and reservations is Jennifer Taylor, who has 17 years of travel industry sales, marketing and reservations experience. Grace De La Torre, CP, was named California’s Paralegal of the Year at the 2013 Education Conference of the California Alliance of Paralegal Associations. A paralegal for Mark Gladden, Esq., at Passalacqua, Mazzoni, Gladden, Lopez & Maraviglia in Healdsburg, Ms. De La Torre also is an instructor at Empire College, teaching civil litigation and legal research to paralegal students. In addition, she has taught paralegal workshops at Sonoma State University. She has worked in a variety of areas of law, including litigation, business, real property, estate planning, trust administration, probate and intellectual property law. She is active in the Redwood Empire Association of Paralegals, having served as president, Educational Committee chair and secretary. She has more than six years of fundraising, event planning and marketing experience and has an extensive background in both nonprofit and professional services, previously with Santa Rosa law firm Smith Dollar.

The Council on Aging appointed Ed Wurz donations officer and Kate Titus marketing coordinator. Mr. Wurz has an extensive background in sales and was sports commissioner for the track-and-field event at this year’s Sonoma Wine Country Senior Games, sponsored by the organization. Ms. Titus previously was marketing assistant for the games. Her has more than 25 years in specialized industry and nonprofit marketing.Wine Industry

Vinpak, a custom wine packaging and staffing service based in Valley Wine Warehouse's American Canyon facility, hired Lynne Weaver to oversee sales and marketing. She will be building the company’s direct-sales program among vintners in Sonoma and Napa counties. She has held marketing communications and sales management jobs in several business-to-business industries, most recently in financial services. She holds an undergraduate biology degree from University of California, Santa Cruz, and a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from Golden Gate University.
