Moss Adams employees from four Greater Bay Area offices donated more than 478 hours of volunteer time to nine local charity organizations this month. The effort, known as Helping Hands Day, is designed to help employees give back and support the sustainability of the communities in which they live and work. As the firm celebrates its centennial this year it set the goal of 100 hours of service per office to encourage employees to get out and make a difference in their local communities. The four Bay Area offices went beyond this goal, closing for part of the day to make a positive impact through volunteering. North Bay employees volunteered for five hours bagging and labeling food donations at Redwood Empire Food Bank.Banking

The olive oil is produced at the farm in Forestville. It will be available during Shone Farm’s fall open house on Oct. 12. This is the second year the olives grown at Shone Farm were processed into olive oil. The 365-acre SRJC educational farm has a 1,800-tree olive orchard, a vineyard, fruit orchard, large area of vegetable row crops, and livestock barns. Petaluma-based Oculus Innovative Sciences (NASDAQ: OCLS) reported financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2014, ended June 30. Total revenues were $3.4 million for the first quarter, down 17 percent from $4.1 million for the same period in the prior year. The decline in quarterly revenue growth was the result of three factors: delayed seasonal purchasing by ranches and farms for Vetericyn veterinary care products due to late winter storms, negatively impacting sales in April and May 2013; lower dermatology sales due to the discontinuance of one partner and the launch of products by a new partner last year, causing a revenue spike in the first quarter of fiscal 2013; and the structure of a Latin America-Mexico partnership, completed last August, reduced Oculus' short-term revenue growth despite a 53 percent increase in unit volume sales.Wine
