Kathi Metro has joined Bank of Napa as executive vice president and chief credit officer. She started her career at Napa Valley Bank and later joining The Vintage Bank, where she served as executive vice president and chief credit officer for over 20 years. Most recently, she was with Bank of Marin as senior vice president and regional manager for the Napa area. Ms. Metro has also served on the board of directors for many non-profit organizations, including Leadership Napa Valley and as president of both the Napa Valley College Foundation and the Rotary Club of North Napa. She is currently serving on the boards of SAFE-BIDCO a small business lender, and is president of Napa Valley Community Housing.Construction

United Mechanical Incorporated announced Shannon Rund has joined its team as an account manager serving the North Bay, greater San Francisco and East Bay. She has over 12 years in the HVAC industry and four in the energy efficiency sector .Ms. Rund will be working with commercial facility operations to develop preventive maintenance programs, retrofit and tenant improvement projects as well as light construction. Nonprofits

The Community Child Care Council of Sonoma County's Board of Directors announced two new members. Santa Rosa Police Department Captain Craig Schwartz is now board president. David Garcia, senior principal regulatory affairs specialist for Medtronic Endovascular Therapies, is the new vice president of the board.Health Care

Marin General Hospital appointed Linda Lang as chief human resources officer, replacing Theresa Gianfortune, who retired. Ms. Lang joins Marin General from Kaiser Permanente, where she was regional director, employee and labor relations, Northern California, overseeing the organization’s labor relations and bargaining strategy for a workforce of approximately 65,000. She joined Kaiser in 2010 from Millennium Hotels and Resorts, where she was vice president, human resources for the hospitality firm’s North American Region.

The Northern California Health Care Authority, a regional joint powers agency, appointed Kurt Hahn interim executive director. Mr Hahn’s experience includes serving on the board of directors of the Northern Sonoma County Healthcare District, which oversees Healdsburg District Hospita., for 15 years and where he previously he served as board chairman. Additionally, he represented that district on the board of directors of the Authority. Mr. Hahn previously served on the board of trustees of the California Hospital Association, where he chaired CHA's Governance Forum. Currently he is a board member of the California State Rural Healthcare Association.Politics

John Lowry announced his candidacy for the California Assembly in the North Coast's second district. This seat is currently held by Wesley Chesbro, who will be termed out in 2014. Mr. Lowry, a Democrat, recently retired from Burbank Housing after a 28-year career where he served as its executive director from 1998 to 2012. He also worked as a teacher and a carpenter, was a member of the carpenters union, and holds a general contractors license. He has BA and MA degrees with majors in economics, politics and American history. Mr. Lowry currently sits on the board of Social Advocates for Youth. Residential Real Estate

Real estate partners Geoffrey Apple and Linda Sundheim joined Frank Howard Allen Realtors in Sebastopol. Each with over 20 years of real estate experience, they specialize in residential, country and estate properties. Jeanne Woods, a 30-year Sebastopol broker, is returning to Frank Howard Allen Realtors after a brief sabbatical. Teresa Clark also joined Frank Howard Allen Realtors in Sebastopol. She has been a Realtor in Sonoma County for 28 years, specializing in equestrian properties.Wine

Napa Valley wine business leaders Alex Ryan, CEO of Duckhorn Wine Company, Ning Zhang, of Purlieu Wines, and Erle Martin, CEO of Crimson Wine Group, have joined Sonoma State University’s Wine Business Institute Board of Directors. The new members were selected for the board because of the individual specialties they could bring to the Institute.

St. Francis Winery & Vineyards announced the addition of a new winemaker and the promotion of several employees. Chris Louton, formerly associate winemaker at Napa’s Beringer Vineyards, is St. Francis’ new winemaker, joining winemaker Katie Madigan. Barbara Hawkins is the new tasting room operations manager, Kelley Mingram the new event coordinator, and Erica Petersen is the new senior marketing specialist.

Dana Estates appointed Jason Heller as national sales manager and Vanessa Conlin as sales and hospitality manager for the Rutherford-based winery. Mr. Heller, a Master Sommelier, will oversee national sales for the winery’s trade partners throughout the country. He most recently served as director of new business for Harlan Estate and the winery’s sister properties BOND Estate and Promontory. He has also worked at Michelin-rated restaurants Redd and Bouchon, and has spent time working in distribution for Chambers & Chambers Wine Merchants.

Ms. Conlin’s experience spans from directing hospitality and sales for Napa wineries Gemstone Vineyard and Arietta Winery to overseeing the purchasing programs for wine shops, including St. Helena Wine Center and Pour wine shop in Manhattan.

Benovia Winery named Jen Walsh as its new assistant winemaker. Ms. Walsh has a decade of experience in the wine industry, most recently serving as enologist for Miner Family Winery in Oakville. She has also served as a vineyard and cellar hand for wineries in New Zealand and Chile, and won a Tastevin scholarship to intern at Domaine Marquis D’Angerville in Burgundy while completing her studies at UC Davis.
