Ms. Butler assumes that role after the retirement of Joan Capurro, a 24-year employee who served as community relations director for over a decade.

Bank of Marin has grown from six Marin County branches to 17 branches across five counties in Ms. Butler's 14-year history at the bank. She has spearheaded the bank's advertising efforts during that time, while also coordinating customer events like the Spirit of Marin awards, the annual Bank of Marin calendar and the promotion of author events at Book Passage in Corte Madera.

"Community is at the heart of what we do as a bank, and we are delighted to have Fabie Butler step into this role that will build on the strong relationships and reputation we have built across the Bay Area," said Russell Colombo, president and CEO, in the announcement.

Ms. Butler will direct the bank's philanthropic activities in her new role, and will report to Malin Clark, senior vice president of marketing.

A resident of Mill Valley, Ms. Butler serves as chair of the board for Buckelew Programs, a nonprofit organization providing mental health support and services in Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties. She is a 2013 graduate of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Institute.
